On an unrelated note, 2 weeks on a can of AGE is perfect.

Moved maybe 15 feet in past hour. Anyone know if there is a reason why? Haven't even been seeing many people carrying out cans.

damn, picked the wrong release to skip.

as for the butt hurt, it all comes from entitlement. you want the cans? get there early. if someone got there earlier than you, then they wanted it more....don't hate the players, hate the game.

as for line cutting, that's up to the line to police, not other half. I don't know why people have no problem writing about line cutting on websites and social media but can't open their mouth at the event. other half's job is to make beer, not manage the line, not recalibrate limits...etc.

Not a single word was spoken by people behind the line cutter. I was in front of him and his crew of 5 and had to say something and people just starred at me.

i'm not at OH because i knew how miserable this would be, so i don't have a dog in this particular fight.

that being said, this post is spoken like a line cutter. other half is running an event that they want to be run well and engender themselves to the community - their job is clearly to manage the line and recalibrate limits. if they didn't give a shit, there would be no limit and the first person could buy it all and sell it on MBC or whatever.

what good does calling a line cutter a dick do? he knows. he's not leaving if you call him a dick. if, as you claim, OH's job isn't to "manage the line", even if the whole line says someone cut the line, OH should still sell to him, because in your fantasyland, you think adults should be involved in physical altercations over beer or something.

My buddy left with his cans @ 10:30 and people were still walking up to join the line. Like @Franch I've got no dog in the fight--I skipped this release because I'm unwilling to line up at 6 or 7 AM for IPAs. But I just can't understand why you would show up so late. Go early or stay home and enjoy your Saturday.

It's not that people didn't say anything, I saw multiple people almost come to blows over cutting, I'm just not looking to get in a fight over someone being inconsiderate, what else can someone do? Go tattle to the owner/bouncers? Will they actually do anything? The answer is no.

Adults should not be involved in physical altercations over beer but the reality is, if this continies to happen and nothing is done about it fights will inevitably occur. People get annoyed waiting on line at all, let alone for hours. When people just walk up and circumvent the line of pissed off people at some point it is going to be a problem.

right, which is why it's smart for event runners to hand out wristbands/tickets/numbers/whatever.

Exactly. Hand out tickets well before open. If you don't get a ticket, go home.

Well, that was a crazy release. I got my cans, which is great, but I also got an entire cup of coffee spilled on my backpack, which was not so great and borderline infuriating.

4 hours later I got my cans. As I walked back to the train I saw the end of the line is currently where I started at 8:15am

For the next release they should have an essay contest like Casey does for their extended family. :stuck_out_tongue:

I was just outside the front door when the limits were decreased. I got there early so I wouldn't miss out but understand the move. I'm not going to get upset over getting 4 cans less. I live in Manhattan and don't have much of a commute however.

OH never had a release quite like this so it's certainly something to learn from and make adjustments going forward. A ticketing system or something along those lines would be nice. More beer so limits stick would be better.

All that said, I'm really digging Passiflora and picked up a growler before I left. Really juicy and totally crushable.

Why every hyped brewery doesn't do ticketing/online presale/wristbands/whatever is beyond me. I can't imagine it's that difficult to figure out the amount of beer you have, then hand people tickets. See: Tree House, Hill Farmstead, etc

@BarRoomHero88 I don't think HF or Tree House has to deal with dirtbag people cutting lines and taking bong rips in line. That is just absurd to me. Beer releases turning into Coachella.

All in all, this line was insane simply because of the Trillium tag on the beer. OH makes outstanding beer every day and i'm sure this one is just as good as the rest, but nothing out of this world.
