Do regular GI beers sell well at HM?

Don't know if it's based solely on GI sales. Can't hurt but I have a feeling it's not the main factor. I'm sure Ash can correct me if I'm wrong.

There seems to be a lot less bottle hunters in the Lansing/EL area. I worked at a craft beer store in EL for 3 years(far before i knew what BCBS was) and i was always wondering why we has a case of 7 dollar single bottle sitting on the self for a month every year. I've been away for a bit so it very well might have changed

Apparently Westside is expecting to get a case of rare this year..
From what I heard it will most likely go to a Mega-Bev location in Kzoo / BC

i have heard that you can go into a costco and they have limits of a 4pk (this year who knows). and kzoo seems to be all mega bev, drakes and if you want to pay more Tiffany's.

Yeah what's the deal with Costco/Sam's Club? I've heard this in some other threads I think (sometimes with no limits). Is anyone aware of any Michigan stores with a history of this phenomenon? Is this common or just a select few stores?

And there is a rule that you can buy alcohol from these stores without a membership right?

There is some sort of law which prevents you from having to be a member to purchase alcohol. I remember frequently buying from the Sam's club in Battle Creek when I wasn't a member.

Granted the 10 minutes I spent researching this on Google hardly makes me an expert on the matter, but it would seem that the State of Michigan only allows 'clubs' to operate with an on-site license. Retailers with an off-premises license cannot restrict sales to 'bona fide members' only and must open sales to the general public.

On a related side note, the only reason I bothered looking in to this was after seeing the number of Michigan folks chiming in that they scored bourbon county (in quantity) at Costco last year and thinking "I cannot believe how many BA's have Costco memberships..."

Maybe on the west side, but not sure Costco on the east side is a good bet. I know my local store didn't have any, and I did a trade earlier this year with a guy who claimed to get all of the BC (1 case?) at the next closest store to me. There was apparently a limit posted, but if you shop Costco you know the lines are a zoo. I can't imagine the madness on black Friday and the clerks at the register probably had no idea what BCBS was or that there were limits.

I heard one Costco in kazoo had a pallet last year. However, I believe that store had just opened so could be they did something special for them because they were a new store. The regional buyer may have requested it from the distributed and it was granted for return "favors" to promote distributors products. I'm of course speculating but seems reasonable.

Anyone know if any Costco stores in the metro Detroit had any BCBS last year? Which one? When was it available?

So I did a quick trawl of the BCBS threads in all the different regional forums. Basically, no one anywhere knows anything.

    The only exceptions:
    1) Lots of people in various places seem to have heard from distributors that they're getting less. Not sure if this will affect us here - hard to get less than we've gotten the past two years.
    2) There are a few planned release events, but seems like less than last year. The only "big" ones being discussed (aside from Chicago stuff) are the Indianapolis event and one in NYC.

And you have to bring your own container if you don't want to do on-site consumption.

I heard you have to split it with a stranger in the parking lot while a laughing Goose Island rep lights a cigar with a flaming 20 dollar bill and sprays you both with 312. As you are shivering from being wet and weeping in shame, they chant "In-bev! In-bev! In-bev!"
