I'll complain about a lot of things but these Liberations are typically the most well run events around. Other than me not living closer.

I wouldn't consider everything negative said a complaint. Jeffers, Jim and Walker are great enough dudes that they know the events are probably the best run on the regular, but they also like to get feedback to improve on that to make the next one even better.

I did like it in the past when the guest brewer was the folks they collabed with. Like, it would have been interesting to try some of the Violet Underground's maker's other stuff instead of some really meh Almanac beers.

pour station set up could have helped clear up congestion around that bottle necked area. But again, with an hours time, it cleared up.

I did love that Velvet Merlin on nitro inside the tap room. Damn, that was smooth.

They actually did have Wild Beer Co. at one of the Liberations, while they were there for the collaboration.

And yeah, any negative things I (and probably many others) have to say about these events are mostly gentle and hopefully constructive criticism. They are the best beer events I've been to, and generally very well-run. If I didn't always have a great time and feel I was getting value out of it, I wouldn't keep making the long drive to Buellton.

im just sad on sloambic running out. only had 1 taster, went to pick up my bottles, and waited for the line to die down and in the meantime it ran out.

in the end i only got 1 pour of it. oh well, my fault i guess. just figured itd make it through the whole duration.

Anyone hear anything about further limited distro of Barrelworks stuff? We got a shipment of Agrestic here in Arizona a couple weeks back, much to my delight. Really hoping that becomes a semi-regular/semi-annual kind of thing.

at liberation they had 2-3 more pallets of agrestic marked as "retail only". i think for now that the only one that will get out for distro though

very interesting indeed. welp, hope there's more surprises coming. a friend just brought back a bottle of bretta weisse from a recent trip through paso -- crikey, that stuff is drinking great right now. can only cross my fingers that more barrelworks stuff trickles out of CA.

They're shooting for those to get bigger and bigger, but I imagine it'll still be a couple years before big enough growth allows them to ship out anything that is fruited.
