Read the comments. It's overrated and overpriced. The hype has surpassed the product.

Is there any particular reason for the extremely high prices on these prairie bottles? Plenty of other brewers use the same ingredients for half the price or less.

I really enjoyed last years release, and I am excited to see how this years recipe tweak holds up. I do agree prairie prices can be a little high, but for the most part are not that bad. I mean this is a 13% ABV sort of "kind of" limited/seasonal release so if it's still in the 10-11 dollar range, that's not too shabby.

One of the shelfiest of turds in my neck of the area. The price is such a turnoff...

If it's anything like Hunah man I'm all over it!

Recipe sounds like coffee mexicake/ coffee abraxas if I have all of my ingredients correct lol

It was all right on its own merits. Not as good as regular Bomb! but not something I'd regret having a couple of. It was horrible for $8/bottle.

None of their stouts are worth what they cost. Can't vouch for their other offerings as I haven't had many.

Yea last years wasn't, but I can hope this batch might be better??

But as for the ingrediants, they are the same as coffee abraxas/ coffee mexcake...

If I see it at 10 bucks a bottle, I'll keep right on walking.

I recently did a Bomb! variant tasting (regular, Christmas, BA, Pirate, Fred's Blend, and Bible Belt). Christmas was easily my least favorite of the batch, but it was by no means a bad beer (Pirate edged out Fred's Blend for my favorite). Hoping this year's batch of Christmas is an improvement.

@ArkyVaughan Where do you buy most Prairie stuff? See you are in NJ. Prairie is hard to come by in Philly/PA surprisingly..

@shaemmerle I get regular Bomb! at DeCicco in Westchester. I had to trade for the variants.

I thought last year's version was pretty solid, so I'd love to try this for comparison. But then again, I'd also love to just get more of the regular Bomb! here, but it leaves the shelves no sooner than it arrives.

Bomb! is year-round. Has been for a while now: http://prairieales.com/once-twice-three-times-the-prairie/

The reasons for its availability being so random as far as it sitting on shelves/not being in stock has to do with a lot of factors. It sits on shelves because it's so expensive and a lot of the casual beer drinkers still don't know who Prairie is, much less what Bomb! is, so they pass it up. However, I suspect that in markets closer to OK and in OK itself, it's hard for Prairie to keep up with demand of what I assume is their best selling beer. Had some folks from OK come into a local shop here in Asheville recently and were giddy when they saw how much Bomb! we have because they claimed to not be able to find it for months back home. Lastly, and I know a lot of people jump on the hate bandwagon with these guys, but it happens for a reason: Shelton Brothers. I could go into a rant right now about those guys but it would double the length of this post so I'll just spare you and I the trouble and leave it at that.

    I certainly fee
Thats interesting how much easier it is to find in your neck of the woods vs. mine (Houston-area) and that it's year-round (I didn't know that). This year I feel like its definitely sat on shelves more then in past years. And, only up until recently has it started to disappear more and more. We have a "better" grocery store here called Central Market (I'm sure you have some version of this in NC). They have had BOMB! all summer, but each time I'd go there would be less and less. Now its completely gone as it is at most other places.

I hate the price, but I'm still the sucker that'll pay for it. Prairie is one of my favorite breweries even at $10.99/bottle.
