anyone snag a trickery?

 

Got my 21-year-old son to drive to Arrowine and snag me what he said was the last one (I live in Arlington but work in MD). He got there about 30 min after the tweet went out.

 

I stopped by TJ Alexandria shortly before closing and can confirm they still have a TON left. In the neighborhood of 15 cases.

 

Central Virginia, specifically Charlottesville, received a jack load of GBS just as it appears everywhere else. I saw at least 35-40 cases at Beer Run. So far just heard about 2 cases of Trickery in the market. Beer Run received 1 which they gave out 1 ticket to those who purchased GBS and raffled off the opportunity to purchase 1 (of 12) bottles and then WF received 1 case which was released at Noon yesterday when the local rep was doing a free tasting (of GBS). Citizen Burger Bar had Trickery on tap last night as well.

 

... well that sounds illegal.

 

Initially I thought so too but then was corrected. They were not giving away tickets for the chance to win a bottle. They were handing out raffle tickets to people who purchased GBS (draft or bottles). The 12 tickets drawn last night "won" the opportunity to purchase 1 of 12 bottles at full retail. Essentially it was a lottery. And no, I did not "win" (sad face).

 

Ah, I would have thought that requiring people to buy one beverage for a chance to purchase another sounded iffy.

Any updates on whether there will still be bottles of Double Mexican Radio left tomorrow afternoon; and if not, is the Bluejacket bottle shop still worth making a detour into DC for off of 95?

 

I bought a bottle of Whiskey Barrel Double Mexican Radio yesterday during lunch, and the bartender told me it was "one of the last" from this year's release. The bottle shop wasn't open to customers (bartenders ran back to grab bottles), so I couldn't count how many were on the shelf. Might be worth a call to them to ask.

 

I heard from somewhere else that they were out.

 

NOOOOOOOO!!! F...... I was going to go grab 2 today i'm obsessed with that stuff. Hopefully they will throw it up on tap soon.

 

The bottle shop is only open Friday-Sun but you can still pick up bottles from at the bar.

Later today they'll probably update that list if BA DMR is sold out. Keep an eye on that page before you stop by and/or call them. They seemed very helpful on the phone when I called last week to check on buying a bottle outside of normal bottle shop hours.

Just called, they have 2 bottles left. I was going to posibly go but I odn't wanna make the trek then have it be out.

 

I still have a bottle of BA DMR sitting in my fridge if someone wants to trade me for a Trickery. (I can dream right? )

 

Lost dog in S. Arlington still has a 4 pack of backwoods bastard (16.89) along with victory harvest ale and overpriced (12.99) dfh Fort and Higher Math.

 

My buddy is telling me that TW Springfield got their allotment of Trickery and sold out this am

 

Arrowine sold out of 20 cases of regular GBS within a day. Holy crap!

 

Dominion sold out of GBS within hours, but they didn't have any limits. Saw people walking out with cases.

 

Alpine Pure Hoppiness should be landing around, they have a bunch of it at Total Wine Chantilly. They also said Trickery has come and gone.

 

So still no Death by Coconut in Maryland, huh? Patiently waiting for this...
