Same here. Not sure if "new batch" means more Street Green or some other new brews. I'm planning on heading out there either way for We've Been Out Here In Orbit. I'd love a taste of both though!

This is 100% inaccurate. I got there around 8:45am, a few minutes before they announced if you weren't already in line you weren't getting any beer, and when I finally got beer (~1:15pm) there were maybe 4 cases left. So no, they didn't change the allotment to allow everyone who showed up that day to get cans. They changed it to allow everyone who was already there before opening to get cans.

Feel the exact same way. Wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do after all the hype. Don't know that I'd put it in front of Mosaic, but it's been a while since I've cracked a Mosiac. I hope to try them in tandem sometime to really decide. All that said, was it worth waiting over 4 hours for? I don't know about that, but it is damn delicious.

They brewed two batches of Street Green close together. The "new batch" is the second batch of Street Green.

I'm sorry, but what YOU said is innaccurate, a good friend of mine arrived at 9:30, when I asked him if he ended up getting beer he said he got his beer at 2:30 and were tons people behind him. So I don't they had 4 cases left at 1:15. Maybe there was another pallet? Someone please correct me I'm wrong, but I was told cans lasted into the late afternoon with 1 can going to people the end of the line.

Yeah I got my beer around 1 and while they only had a few cases on the floor I asked the cashier if he had more in the back and they said they had about 50 cases left.

My apologies then, this is contrary to what I heard day-of. Still don't care that they lowered the limits, OH made the right decision to adjust for the demand rather than shut people out that waited 4+ hours in line. Maybe they could have announced it sooner, but people would just complain about that too.

No worries. Agreed, I just wish they made the decision/announcement sooner, my disappointment stemme mainly because I was in the barrel room, by Gaddy Lane when limits were dropped. I'm glad so many people got to try this beer, it was just very disappointing at the time. Also I believe 1000+ got at least 1 can, so they did right by a lot of people which is a great thing for them in the short and long term. Hopefully the publicity/demand from this release will lead to expansion in the near future.

Didn't El Dorado sell out on release day?

Yea, it did. I would bet they will sell out release day this time too.

The last release signified a change in all upcoming releases for me. The insane line will only increase the hype. People in NYC love stuff you have to wait on line for and now this is only going to snowball.

Granted I don't think it will be as crazy as this collab but it will more than likely sell out.

Totally get that, I'd be more upset about it too if I was close to getting another 4 pack - especially after tasting it!

I am torn on these situations, but Id really like to know what effect it would have if these breweries would stop amending their limits the day of the sale..... Would it make future releases less of a shit show??? I think its something to think about.

Its really a lose lose situation. If I was traveling 5 hours to buy beer and made my plans based on certain expectation I would be upset with them reducing limits through the day. I might not have made the commitment to travel and wait in line knowing I would only get 2 4 packs instead of 4. The people that showed up late and would have been shut out otherwise but got a can are probably ecstatic.

Do I think it would have been less of a shit show if they kept the limits, no, I dont. I think it would have been exactly the same.

It would be insane if people are willing to wait multiple hours on line for the single-hop releases. I personally think it's a bit nuts how many people were willing to wait 4-5 hours this past weekend, but to each his or her own. For the regular releases though, that's just nuts.

I agree but this past release proved to me that people are nuts for beer (myself included). Like I said, I don't think the lines will be 4-5 hours but I expect people to line up at 8:00-9:00am instead of 6:30-7:00am for every upcoming release.

I won't be lining up at that time because I live 10 minutes from the brewery but most out-of-towners will because it sucks getting to that part of Brooklyn. It's easier to come in around 9am then noon because of the traffic.

Anybody else catch The Weeknd walking by the release? Probably thought it was a line to get into his show.

I don't believe that upcoming releases will be any crazier than what they have been, prior to last weekend. Having the collab with Trillium, another well deserved hyped brewery, set this one over the edge.

I think lining up at 9am for a 10am open would be ok. I think getting there around 11am would be ok too, as I have done in releases leading up to this.

As much as I am wish AGE would be released and am missing having cans of Green Diamonds, I think a release like Hop Showers and a single hop would be really helpful in the next release. Think I'll finally be able to make a Hop Shower release this year!

I think a lot of it this weekend had to do with the fact that we had already been waiting for over an hour before we realized how long it was actually going to take to get inside, that we were pot committed. I'd be surprised if this many people continue to line up like this for future releases.

I am a big fan of OH and support the big gap they filled in the NYC area. That being said, tough for me to put any effort to acquire when I can now get Hill Farmstead on tap on a regular basis. No offense to OH but I would suspect even they agree that HF is at another level.
