Turkey Hint ???: You and I are at the origins of an ongoing joke in this thread. (if you have not figured it out with this one, Target, I am not sure what to do).

 

Calling any "local" locals @Mipper @PA-Michigander @JNForsyth do any of you guys have either 2 six shippers or a 12 shipper (or some combination of whatever size shippers they make that combine to 12) that you'd be willing to part with? My local u-haul carries all kinds of stuff but not styro shippers -_- and I'm tight on time and don't know how quick I could get one delivered to my place without paying a boatload in shipping

I don't know what shipping speed is like, but if I'm not mistaken u-haul's website will do free shipping for a $50 order. I'd be happy to split this order with you and take delivery when I see you (be it very soon or not for longer, if you have the space to store them)

 

Couldn't you do a box in a box with a 12 wine / bomber case? That is what I do. Those and Medium Home Depot boxes. I have one styro 6 shipper that you can have and one 12 shipper that I am saving for the 12 DO Christmas.

 

I'd need it by early next week (preferably by this weekend) -- I believe you know at least part of what I need it for...

 

I just did that to @Tertullian007 with two cases of Big Gruesome, one exterior box was a Home Depot medium, the other was something else. You'd have to ask him how the shipment held up, but it looked pretty solid on my end.

 

You've had pretty good results using a 12 bomber case in a medium home depot box? If so that would work perfectly -- I have a bomber case laying around -- just fill the extra space with packing materials (bubble wrap + other stuff)? I'd just have to drop by home depot

 

Yep...I do it all the time. I also put a contractor bag around the first box and zip tie it closed and use extra packing materials around the first bag/box. I still bubble wrap the bottles that go into the first box and sometimes use extra material inside that box so there is little or no movement. You can't hear a damn thing and its very secure I believe. @whyteboy003 how did that type of packing hold up going to FLA? The Medium HD boxes are like a 1.50 or something. With that and bubble wrap I have not had any issues, except the bottle limit imposed by the first box. But Cans double up real well inside.

I can check tonight Cody, I do believe the only shipper I have is already half packed up for something else. I've also done the bomber case box inside a trash bag and then an outer box, works quite well.

Very similar to Josh's answer but I have zero idea who Aaron Eckhart is. Probably your target does.

This might be a weird answer but I have a ton of top half of shippers. I hate only sending 6 or 12 in a shipper so I often leave the top off the shipper, and include cans in the top half of the shipper. I actually have plans tonight to try and cut the inside of the shippers to try and make them be able to be used as the bottom half of shippers. If I am successful I will be able to help you out.

 

Sounds good, keep me in the loop (and also thanks to all others who responded and gave ideas also) -- I'll likely be at pizza boy on Friday at some point (probably late afternoon though, like 5pm or so) and could potentially pick anything up

I remember you once sent me three bottles in "half a 3-shipper", and I think it worked really well. I actually reused it the same way as part of a larger box.
