Last year i was unable to secure a bottle of Christmas Morning. That is my first priority for this year. But definitely lots of Bourbon GBS too. Drinking that beer for the first time was a formative experience in my conversion to craft beer.

Not sure if this has been asked already, but does Trickery see distro into DC? Or just NoVa?

Christmas Morning was fantastic last year. Can't wait till Kentucky Christmas Morning drops next month

P ST carries Hardywood from time to time, but I doubt that's going to continue.. let alone finding Trickery there or anywhere else in DC

Side note still plenty of Backwoods Bastard at Cairo still

I was told that NOVA is getting death by coconut today or possible tomorrow. MD is usually a week or so behind. If you live in MOCO like me it's more like 3weeks behind. Just got lunch in last week dated 9/25. I know nova got it about 2-3weeks ago

Was fortunate to get some stovepipes of Death by Coconut while in CO this summer. Its a solid beer but nothing I would go hunting for.

TW Sterling had 2 cases of Trickery yesterday morning, they also got 45 cases of GBS, GBS was 4 per this week, and if they still have it next week, no limits.

I wonder why they said over the phone last night that they wouldn't be getting any.

It seems like the trickery distribution is very inconsistent

Most TW employees have no clue what they're talking about. They completely rely on what their computer system tells them, and that data is often unreliable.

Just like any business, some of the employees are good, some not so much. My experience with TW is totally relative to location. The folks at Springfield have always been rude to me when i have asked about a specific beer. They even lied to me about bourbon gbs last year. Contrasting this are the folks at Alexandria or Fairfax both of which seem genuine in helping me and even offering up suggestions on other beers to try. Across all spectrums though, managers have been forthright. So to sum it all up YMMV.

The folks at the Sterling store have been great to me, it doesn't hurt that I'll drop off beers that I get in trades from around the country, that has gotten some good mileage for me. But agreed, employees don't really know, need to talk to a manager to get the good info.

You're right, I should never have relied on people who really have no idea. It's not like Totalitarian wine is part of a conspiracy to stop me getting this.

While it's true for all businesses that you will run into poor cust service at some point, I wouldn't blame a poor release of a Hardywood (esp. Trickery) on the store. Every single store I talked to said they had no idea when it was coming and were told on multiple days that it would arrive on that day, which it never did. Most didn't have any idea if they would actually receive Trickery and said unclear timing is the case with many Hardywood releases. For example, multiple TJs told me to arrive first thing last Friday because they were told by Hardywood it'd be there. It never showed and luckily I didn't either.

The trickery release is an outlier. It was all over the place with delivieries (and possibly still ongoing). My specific issue is just general poor customer service at that store. As such i do not frequent it if possible.
