Alpine Brewing Thread

Had Nelson here a couple weeks ago here in Hawai'i, not bad at all! Also had Hoppy Birthday... No comment.

 

So glad there is more specialty batches, had a small growler of badboy last night which was great. Can't wait to open up High Kicks.

For actual content, the GF Pure Hoppiness is garbage - overpriced garbage. They have a LOT of work to do here, even though Nelson is tasting pretty good.

 

At this point though bad boy, high kicks, and hop boxed have been so good I really just don't care about the GF brewed beer convo anymore. Alpine is giving the local customers something new and equally good (or better)....

I do hope Alpine might brew some one off batches of Nelson though....

 

Mmmm... Pub Cat on for growlers and draft pours tomorrow.

 

I really wish Green Flash would brew Alpine Ale, Nectar, Willy and Captain so it could free Alpine to produce more new beers and have some of the limited ones become regular up at the brewery.

Nelson from GF is very close to Nelson brewed from Alpine at this point, it's mostly dialed in (having tried them side by side)

I think Green Flash makes great IPA and I generally don't join the hate brigade on the Alpine/GF stuff, but this Pure Hoppiness is wayyy off. Not just off from Pure Hoppiness, but objectively not very good.

 

If only they could switch taco tuesday and wings wednesday. Then my tuesdays would be perfect. Still hoping to one day drink Alpine Duet again.

 

Looks like they've changed the prices for growlers, growler fills, and bottles.

 

Awww damn yeah, a couple bucks more across the board but growlers themselves got a 50% reduction in price.

 

For some reason I remember paying over $18 (before tax) for a growler of Bad Boy two weeks ago. The new price on that beer is actually less.

 

Stopped in for Bad Boy and Hop Boxed over the weekend. Tasters of the core lineup were pretty unremarkable and disappointing but the specialties on were well worth the trip and was glad to grab some growlers.

 

Wait, even the Big 3 that are brewed at Alpine are now sucking?

They are not brewed at Alpine. All kegs and bottles of Pure Hoppiness, Duet, Nelson, and Hoppy Birthday are brewed at Green Flash and trucked up the hill from what I understand.

 

I know this thread is really TL;DR at this point, but this has been reported/repeated at least a dozen times now.

I've tried to keep up, but I really missed the part where they were bringing kegs up to Alpine from GF. Sorry man.
