So far, there's just the regular one, mostly Somerville, though this spring's was in South Boston, and the North in Haverhill (there is a NERAX - related fest at Novara Res in Portland Maine.)
They were talking about one in South Shore someplace, but it has never come to pass.
I wouldn;t mind seeing the NERAX name expand a bit further out, but really, it hasn;t been hard to get to from anywhere I've lived so far.

I often wonder how a NERAX themed bar that was all cask (or mostly), perhaps with a British pub-style feel to it, would fair in Boston.

Obviously the logistics might be a bit tricky, with a cask only lasting a few days at most.

That would have to be a tricky proposition as a bar owner right? Currently I really only see actual gravity casks on during festivals or special releases where the proprietors are 99% confident they will get kicked. Maybe it's about things moving in that direction with more bars having a couple hand pump casks on to help preserve the contents a bit longer.

To your point though, I have to imagine most bar owners could feasibly kick a cask in a night at a busier location like CBC. It could be a marketable event too, I just think there isn't nearly as much interest in beers served that way vs a new keg of a hyped IPA.

Sounds wonderful, but it just wouldn't work. Even the great London pubs known for cask ales rarely have more than a handful of casks on tap -- and cask beer is much more popular over there. It'd be a big risk to try it in Boston. Stoddard's, for example, has FIVE cask engines. When they first opened they said they'd try to always have three casks running at any given time, but that isn't happening these days. Similarly, Lord Hobo has three hand pumps, but they generally never have more than one cask offering (more often, it's zero cask offerings).

How was last night? Surprised not to see a beer list to get people motivated.

If you aren't down with American cask ales, than you can just geeet out.

Love NERAX - they didn't disappoint last night - typical smallish crowd to start the Thurs session -- then grew to a nice and comfortable crew. That space above the Barking Dog is just great -- pub atmosphere w/ the lighting and brick. Typical fascinating/diverse crowd -- met a bike welder, a couple of brewers, and a dude who runs a beer tour company.

Wtg in line for a beer I was telling a friend about a great Mosaic hopped cask ale I had at BBW on Canal St. last Fri before the Celts game. A guys standing next to me laughed and pointed to another dude standing nearby -- "that's Matt -- he's the brewer of the beer you are talking about!". So I got to talk to Matt about how BBW preps their casks and a bunch of process specifics -- to fine or not to fine, how they dry hop in the cask etc etc. Just a cool dude - great conversation.

My BiSs -- I went all UK last night except for an Aeronaut Choco stout sample...
    - Tiny Rebel Dirty Stop Out - smoked oat stout (Cwtch was also lovely)
    - Cotswold OSM - 7 grain mild
    - Grey Trees Festival Pale

Went to the Tap after for a ridiculous cascade hopped imperial stout on cask. Amazing beer.

Back tonight to try the American offerings! Great job NERAX team!! Cheers
