BCBBW was on tap at several places in the months following the release last year.

Your chances of getting a regal rye are not good.

Sure. They sold some right away & hung onto some for special occasions. For instance, they raffled some during a fundraiser a few months ago. There may be some more hanging around, & my guess is that other places did the same.

They do this all the time for everything, not just BCBS...are you really surprised, Sam? There's random "old" shit popping up on their shelves all the time. I think they do it to troll us.... :stuck_out_tongue:

I'd be slightly more surprised if GE was doing it...but honestly, it is what it is...

I don't think the wholesaler was holding the bottles of 2014 and I definitely wasn't. I did that with world wide stout at shaler but I don't have the space to be creative at Shadyside.

I haven't determined this yet. I need to do some research. It's a possibility.

In all honesty though, am I the only one who thinks Regal Rye sounds like shit? I really don't have much if any interest in that one.

EDIT: Description - Bourbon County Brand Stout aged in rye whiskey barrels with blackberries, Luxardo candied cherries, fresh sour cherries and sea salt.

Yeah, they lost me with Candied Cherries. Not worth the $$$$ risk to me

    What's the price anyway?

And I agree with preluderl, actually...it all ends up tasting phenomenal...even the super berry ones (which this sounds like it might be) end up just so good.

Its just upsetting that they make hard to get beers even harder to get thats all. Plus from a monetary standpoint I would rather cellar my own beer then let someone else do and charge me more. That policy makes some sense when breweries do it from a storage standpoint, but when retailers and wholesalers are doing it, thats just dumb.

Special occasion and raffles are ok to me. That doesnt seem as intentional if that makes sense, especially since sometimes raffles benefit a good cause sometimes. Just holding something back to profit from it I dont like. I get it from a business standpoint, but as a consumer I dont agree with it.

This. I feel like at this point they've earned my trust to try whatever they put out.

This one actually sounds better to me than Prop, to be honest.. And it will obviously be much easier to obtain on trade.

Are we being charged more? I don't know that that's the case. If we are, then I wholeheartedly agree...but I don't know if cost on those vintages was discussed yet.

House just randomly puts stuff out that they've held onto, not for raffle or special occasion...sometimes they seem to do it for shits and giggles...and I get a kick out of it. I kinda think it's fun. And as far as I'm aware, they don't mark it up from what they were previously charging unless it's part of standard store-wide inflation...

That's just my understanding of that whole thing with the house.
