That's awesome man. That's going to be a hell of a fun weekend. Do report back, as I want to hear how the event went. Have fun, and drink a beer or ten for us poor bastards stuck in the 'burgh.

Also, I'm betting this was your reaction when you won the tickets:

Yeah it's hard to make sense of it. Especially when a city just on the other side of our own state seems to get every damn thing. I really don't understand how distro works at all.

While Goose Island MAY brew all the good stuff on their own, they are surely owned by AB InBev in totality.

What ever happened to that floridian who sent you shitty beer?
So ultimately, you're paying extra to not have to stand in line? Like a "convenience fee" on ticketmaster online sales.

I'm all set on drinking that garbage. I will however buy a few to drain pour and sell the empty bottles on ebay for a fat profit.

I forgot to update you, but he sent up an extra Marshal Zhukov. So instead of the Good Gourd Almighty I got a Good Gourd and a Marshal Zhukov. Really wanted to try that Good Gourd Almighty for Halloween, but oh well.

Fill them with Big Eddy Cherry Doppleswarz and recap; no one will know the difference.

I am still really puzzled by the lack of BCBS events around town on Black Friday. That isn't to say that ones won't pop up but in the much smaller market of Orlando you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting an event. If you wanted to try the main 3 plus Vanilla Rye all you had to do was go to one of 50 bars having events.

Not how it works here. Never has. We've been puzzled for years. Consider this your official rite of passage into the Pittsburgh beer scene. :grinning: No BCBS.

It seems that places would rather squirrel away their kegs for some random event down the road (like Waterworks MD did with their keg of BCBS). Which seems to be the opposite of what Goose Island wants them to do. They seem to want Black Friday to be synonymous with BCBS (thus the frenzy of the BA's) which is smart.

Oh we've got it. Be in Shadyside on Black Friday at 6am with a lawn chair and you'll see for yourself.

Yep. It's weird. Retailers, wholesalers, distributors - none of them do what the breweries want them to do OR what the customers want. Not quite sure how they've been able to get away with it.

Orlando might be same sizer maybe smaller then us but have a really good beer area. They have great breweries a stones throw from there and some good beer bars. Only place that hasn't embraced craft is Disney world.

I think as long as u don't want regal u will be fine. I got there at 10:40 last year for the 11 event and still got bottles I mean it was only a bottle limit but the size in the bottles will diffently effect it.

Orlando is an average beer market. Honestly I would take the selection here over there any day. The only thing I miss is Shelton Brothers. As for breweries, Orlando doesn't have any for shit right now. That is changing but really you have to go to Tampa or down to Miami to get good breweries.
