Great to see stacks of cases in California. I'm keeping fingers crossed that distro to Philly area will work out that way!

Your post made me chuckle. You picked it up in mid-November and are considering saving a couple for "early next year", and you call that aging?

I'll still have half a six pack left six months after purchase. Not because the beer is bad. Not because I'm "aging" it. But because I have too damn much beer in my cellar.

FWIW, I actually preferred the fresh version over the nine month aged version the first time around.

Yeah, the dozens of IPAs I have lying in my cellar right now are pissed at me for not drinking them fresh. I, too, have too much damn beer. :grimacing:

At least when we die our families will have a lot of great beer to drink at the funeral.

Damn that is a lot for a 6 pack. I know it is comparable to the price point from before but it still hurts. It is my wife's favorite beer so at least I will not get bitched at!

This is also my wife's absolute favorite beer (and among my fav's from Stone). I'm hopeful for a free pass on the price no matter how much this goes for in PA. Cheers!

Yeah, that's is aging to me. I rarely have a beer that stays in my possession more than a month. I'm going to have a hard time not going through these quick.

I'm also bad at realizing the current date. I feel like it's still september, so was thinking early next year could be around 6 months. Maybe I'll hold onto a couple til spring.

Not even close to comparable.. $9 for a 22 oz bomber last year equates to a $29.50 six pack, on a ounce by ounce, $ by $ comparison.

This is an amazing deal if you were like me, who bought up 1-3 bombers at a time until you couldnt find them anymore. $16.49/sixer equates to a $5 bomber. We are saving almost 45% if you "buy in bulk" up to that 3-4 bomber threshold.

Now if you wanted just a sip or just 22 ounces worth, try to find someone to split this with. I guess bombers have their place after all. But this is easily a GREAT deal for the majority who had one and wanted another. I've never had a "buying in bulk" issue on my end. Obviously ramping up to the pinnacle of a keg purchase is an option. But in this smaller format, this price point is fantastic.

This is some mega exciting news, I frigging loved Xocoveza last year, still have 1 bottle cellaring for the hell of it. "

To all those worried about price, let me just explain this to you:

Enjoy by IPA is normally between $6.49 and $8.99 at most shops (with $8.99 being gouge shops). The 6 packs came out and at the same shops, they sit between $13.49 and $16.99. I'd be highly shocked if Xocoveza was much more, I'm guessing $14.99 on average.

I'd pay 20 for a six pack of this, and I wouldn't think twice. It's an amazing beer. I mean, Ballast Point beers are typically between 15-20 on the east coast, and if a beer of this quality is more expensive, it's worth it.

I'm not crushing 3 of these in a night, and I doubt many people will. It's a beer you keep for weeks~few months, and enjoy over time.

I'm in Michigan too, and that's not my experience at all. The Enjoy By sixers fly off the shelves here, even at ~$16.99, and the bombers sit until the Enjoy By date at ~$7.99-8.99. And this isn't just an Ann Arbor phenomenon - Stone was recently trying to unload some Enjoy By on Rave (SE Mich distributor) and Rave said they'd take all the six packs they could give them, but wanted nothing to do with the bombers, as they just don't move.

When I said "sit at $13.49-16.99," I meant that's the price range they sit in. I usually can't get a 6pack unless I keep up with the release they fly so damn fast. But the bombers, those sit around until well after the marked date. I personally will completely skip out on the release if I can't get it on draft or in 6pks, even if the bombers are everywhere. =D

Ah, sorry I misunderstood you. Yeah, I'm with you on skipping after the sixers and kegs are gone.

I was talking to the Stone rep, he was saying they're going to be doing more 6pks and less bombers, but that they'd never go away entirely because apparently Californians tend to prefer bombers.

Can't wait. I take the train to San Diego all the time, so there's a Stone company store next to the Santa Fe Station. I'm sure I'll find myself there more often before my train home.

Sadly, here in Austin my rep has no knowledge of it. Says they're still 'pushing' other seasonal products. Who know IF and WHEN we get it. :slight_frown:
