We're going to the M's-Rays game Wednesday. We've got 100 level seats on the first base line. Anybody know good beer options without having to hike all over the stadium? I know there's good beer in the park, but haven't been this year, so I'm not sure what's pouring and where. Thanks all.

Behind home plate on the 100 level, there is a kiosk that sells Fremont Universale, Diamond Knot IPA, and Skagit River Sculler's IPA. Not far from there is the Mariners HOF (which has a bar). I think you can get these beers plus bottles of Elysian Immortal IPA. There are places, I'm not sure where, that sell bombers of Immortal and Lagunitas Hop Stoopid. I've been tempted to get the Hop Stoopid but never pull the trigger because I don't want to check the bottling date and I hate Hop Stoopid after it's 3 months old.

Most of the stands have Leinenkugel Summer Shandy or FW Summer Solstice on tap.

There is a good stand on the 100 level concourse out in center to left field that has a nice selection of taps. They were one of the only areas that had Fremont's Homefront IPA last year. Actually going to the game tomorrow night, but I'm taking one of my students, so no beer for me.

FW Solace or Fremont Summer Solstice or Anderson Valley Summer Solstice. FW doesn't make a Summer Solstice.

Unfortunately there is a new buyer for Safeco Field this year. The local selection is dramatically reduced.

Hit it Here Cafe had Firestone DBA on tap last time I went. I know they have it at at least one more stand, but I can't remember where.

I was really shocked at the selection when I went to my first game in April. The selection is really bad in comparison to last year. Way more BMC.

Ball game related: Is Elysian Fields a good choice to have a snack and a beer previous to a game??

+1 to this. Decent food with a nice selection of beer (assuming you like Elysian beer), and it's no more than a 5 minute (or so) walk to the stadium from there.

I've never tried Elysian beer. Actually of the PNW region I've only tried a couple of Rogue beers.

Then you are in for a treat. Elysian beers IMO are soooo much better than Rogue. Also, Elysian Fields may also have some PNW guest beers on tap.

Great, any particular beer from Elysian and other from PNW that you recommend?? I also want to go to Collins Pub, Pine Box and Pike Brewery

There is a Pyramid cart somewhere along sections 140 to 142 (or around there somewhere...) that was serving a smoked helles the first half the season that I thought was very solid. Not sure if they'll still have it, but if not they may have something else you don't typically see widely distributed from them.

If Elysian Fields has Hubris IIPA on tap, get that if you like IPAs. If you see Fremont, Black Raven, and/or Boneyard at any of those places, be sure to have a pint or several. Those are great breweries from the PNW that you're not going to get outside of the PNW.

Elysian Fields is a way better option for a pre-game beer over Pyramid Ale House. Pyramid is always jam-packed, whereas Elysian, only a five minute walk away, will have space.

They try to keep the taplist updated online.

Relax. We've got lots of beer you'll love. Any bar you walk into will have a selection of craft beer. Check our "Visiting Seattle" thread for a more complete list of suggestions. Collins pub is less than a 10 minute walk from Elysian Fields, which in turn is about 5 from the Mariners stadium and directly across the street from the Foot/Kickball stadium.

    I'm pretty relaxed, I know I'll be in beer-paradise.

For the day we (I'm going with my wife, daughter and brother-in-law) will go to the stadium I've planned going to the aquarium, Columbia Center, Pioneer Square, Collins Pub, Elysian Fields, maybe Chinatown if we have time and then go to the game. What do you think??
