It was Gillian for me. Was at a BCBS event last winter and they had it on tap. Heard them say it had never been kegged so it was a special thing, etc. So, I tried it and loved it and was like "holy sh*t: There's a whole other world of beer out there!"

I'm glad you dig Tank 7, but I wouldn't say it's sour at all. I'd hesitate recommending it to someone looking for a sour beer as I feel they'd definitely be disappointed as we don't employ any acid producing bacteria in the production of Tank 7.

Sorry. I'm judging funky as sour. Lol. My apologies. I'll edit.

We don't use any wild yeast in Tank 7. Perhaps you're thinking of Saison-Brett?

Yea, you know what. I am getting confused here. It actually was Saison Brett. It's rare I get any Boulevard beers in my neck of the woods and last time I had either was about 3 years ago. Sorry.

I tried Grand Dame Oud Bruin at the world of beers in Kohler Wisconsin a couple of years ago. That was the first time I tried a sour beer and I really was surprised how much I liked it. Since then my favorite has been New Glarus Enigma, the thumbprint beer they put out last spring.

Duchesse de Bourgogne: she leads to bankruptcy like an ex wife. I still love her though.

A taster tray at Cascade, oddly enough didn't even know about much about sour beer when I visited it 5 years ago.

I really don't remember, but I volunteered for the 2010 Belgian Beer fest here in Boston and the rest was history. Tried one sour, and liked it, and then tried a plethora of them. It could of been a Belgian brewery or a local one like Allagash or CBC.

Gueze Boon and Duchesse De Bourgogne, although I wouldn't say the latter is an easy introduction into the style. It's very challenging. Something local to your area would likely be a better introduction.

Spent a semester in northern Spain drinking their dry, sour sidra. Came home and drank Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere and enjoyed it very much.

Petrus aged pale did it for me at total wine in California. It's a coming of age tale.

Just starting to get into them. I really liked Dfh festina peche and the new glarus fruit beers.

My friends who don't like Sours find barrelhouse'a apricot and the almanac sours the most approachable. Barrelhouse is a very mild sour that the apricot really comes through. The almanacs do a great job of highlighting the fruit.
