If you're in Park Slope, be in touch with St. Gambrinus. I already asked at Prospect Heights Beer Works, and they are definitely getting BCS (though no idea on variants).

If you're not chasing variants, Whole Foods gets a ton all over the city.

confirming TH will get rye and rare. a lot of it. can't announce a specific number yet. and a LOT of regular bcbs. like a whole fkn lot.

also can confirm that the price for rare will be close to the price goose island charged for rare on rare day.

edit: alsoalso can confirm that despite what a certain poster on BA said, event planners can and should give out tickets to control line-cutting (rather than physical violence being something grown adults actually do). spoiler for this year's black friday release -- line cutting won't be tolerated because there will be a ticketing system.

so don't get into fights. or smoke weed on line like derelicts.

One Mile House has announced their tap list (no rare on tap - in bottle only). They're doing a scaled release of taps (i.e. BCBS at 4, Coffee/Barleywine at 6, Rye at 7). Not sure why they changed up the format since last year the even ran very smooth even without the different timing for the beers.

I can't remember what happened last year very clearly, but I think when they opened they were only doing bottles and maybe bcbs on draft. They started pouring variants around 6 or 7 if I remember, but you're correct it seemed smooth.

I was down in Soho earlier so I decided to poke my head in New Beer. That place is unreal...

Last time I camped out overnight for anything, I wasn't even old enough to drink. You boys have fun.

    Top Hops Black Friday:
Doors at 9AM for bottle sales only
    Taps at 12PM

Wristbands or tickets will be handed out to the line at a time to be determined to prevent line cutting.

The first 200 people in line are guaranteed a full allotment of 4 BCBS, 2 BCBW, 1 BCBCS, 1 Bourbon County Regal Rye, and 1 Rare Bourbon County. There will be a good amount of extra regular BCBS for sale - everything else is limited to one allotment. Additionally, there will be some raffles and surprise bottles around.

Goose Island will be providing coffee and beignets from Cheeky Sandwich for the line like last year.

    Bottle Prices (all are 16.9oz):
BCBS $10.99/bottle or $118.99/12 bottle case (including a 10% discount)
    BCBW $12.99/bottle
    BCBS Coffee $12.99/bottle
    BCBS Regal Rye $12.99/bottle
    BCBS Rare $64.99/bottle

    Draft List:
    BCBS 2k15
    BCBS 2k14
    BCBS 2k13
    BCBW 2k15
    BCBW 2k14
    BCBS Coffee 2k15
    BCBS Rye 2k15

Unsurprisingly, the change in bottle format has led to a significant price increase.

    2014 BCS $.58/oz, 2015 BCS $.65/oz
    2014 BCBW $.58/oz, 2015 BCBW $.77/oz
BCBCS - hard to compare, given that prices were all over the map in 2015

That rare bottle is also insane - $3.84/oz. Wow.

I think I've finally been priced out of this beer. Enjoy, guys and gals. At least they're doing wristbands this year!

While I wholeheartedly respect your opinion of price, I think Bourbon County and its variants are so special that they warrant a "whatever it costs" mentality. I'd rather spend the money and not buy anything else for a month than miss this release. I'm not saying you should feel similarly, but if it's a beer you truly enjoy, just don't spend any beer money in the next two weeks leading up to Black Friday. Just my outlook, cheers

Anyone Here go to top hops last year? Wondering how early to attempt to go and when they start handing out tickets before all the line jumpers show up and screw everyone over who actually follow the system. Thanks

This year will be a different monster because of rare. I got there at 4:30 and would have been 7th in line. But I was confused by parking and went down a different street and became 11th.

I think I got to Top Hops at like 7 last year and was about 100+ deep. Not sure yet if I'll try to line up this year with how crazy people will be to get Rare.
