Veritas 16 Release Details

Just had it out of the bottle. Sure it's good. If you like the taste of CO2. If you like beer idk, there wasn't much flavor besides the carb.

 

Hmm, my bottle didn't have this problem.

 

also ya know you could let it rest? I think that is a fairly easy thing to battle, at least easier than no carb...

 

So Lost Abbey has gone from no carb to too much carb? haha

 

opened a bottle last night and it was terrible. extremely disappointing

Sunday pickup was smooth and quick (and dead). 5/5 would F5 again.

 

Bottle much different from taster?

A bit more body, and more funky. I was excited after having the taster, knowing the bottles are usually better...it was.

 

"Terrible" seems really harsh considering the tasters - IMO - were really good. I guess we all gamble with these bottles, so I'll crack one to see how terrible it is

My taste buds were aggravating the holy shit out of me yesterday, that little annoying little voice that kept urging me to "go on, open a bottle of V016, you've got more."

I'm glad my will power is weak. Shared a bottle with friends and discovered the joys of white peaches. Excellent blend of oak and fruit.

 

Much like the taster, the bottle had zero fruit characteristics. Tasted like oaky tonic water

Although it seems you're in the minority, you're not the first person I heard this from. If someone wants to sacrifice a bottle to me I'd gladly let you know if it's good or bad

 

Thats fun. I decided to skip Veritas this time since I was underwhelmed in the past so clearly I'm trying to inflate the value of my 0 bottles. Man I sure do have the strangest motivations.

Is it likely that my experience was different than yours? Sure? Doesn't mean I'm out to troll the value of your $41 carb bomb.

Also, for the record Veritas' carb problems existed on tap not in the bottle, at least for the last batch.

 

He's referring to Lost Abbey's history of having carb problems (which hasn't been a problem for the past 1 1/2 years).

Lighten up dude, no need to get all bent out of shape because someone questions your opinion. It is the internet after all.

 

Were you there Sat or Sunday? I went Sunday AM, and the taster wasn't crazy carbed at all. It was funny though cause my wife said "wow, there is some carb to this!" since there was zero last release, but it didn't seem crazy at all.

Weird.

 

It's not about questioning my opinion its about questioning my integrity. As if the only way I could dislike this beer was if I had ulterior motives.

Hmm. You've changed my mind! Maybe my V015 will go up in value if I continue my crusade =D!

I may have jumped the gun in my fervor earlier so if my comments offended anyone, my bad.

I did think that V016 was lacking though, wish it didn't taste that way to me but it did. Glad everyone else can enjoy theirs!
