Will most likely not be released on Black Friday as well. They're putting a lot of effort into planning this release. It's coming relatively soon though, and will be announced well ahead of time.

If they give 2 weeks notice, expect craziness. Also, the best news I've gotten in a while -

I heard today in the tap room that Hob Lab: Citra Pale Ale is likely to become the year-round pale ale offering from Kane - maybe under a different name (I'd imagine it'd graduate from Hop Lab status).

Agreed, unless it's a ticketed event I wouldn't even bother going if there was that much notice. It's going to be a shtshow regardless and that would just make it unbearable.

Awesome news on the Hop Lab Citra!

This is awesome news. One of my favorite pale ales around.

Popped in yesterday and they found a lost keg of Hop Lab Citra. I finally got to try it and it was great. Big citrus and a fantastic mouthfeel. I was chatting with them in the tap room and I think it's being considered for a more regular status in their lineup. I'm loving the Hop Lab concept. I got a growler of Azecca pale and Wheat IPA.

Same here. Really hope it's ticketed or I'm not gonna bother. There are plenty of great BA beers these days, not worth a 4+ hour line for me.

That pretty much sums it up correctly.

Ripple is one of Kane's best beers. Really, really delicious. I'll be stocking up on that when I see it.

Brickwall, Wegmans, Asbury Park Fest Hall, Acapulquenos in Long Branch, Franks Deli- tons of places. Wish they were allowed to have a food truck- would do quite well.

Asbury Park - Go to Asbury Festhalle and Biergarten.

Cross & Orange is good but taps are highly limited. Your best bet there is a Lagunitas IPA or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... so again, REALLY limited.

Asbury Ale House just opened two weeks ago and boasts 52 taps, but only about half of them are even craft beer. It does get crowded with a younger crowd though.

Azacca is drinking real nice. You definitely get some galaxy in the nose - I dig it a lot.

I've read plenty of speculation on this specific thread, and the others that were nuked about release date, but any intel regarding variants?

I posted in the other thread, but there are 4 rye barrels labeled ANTEAD, off the top of my head I want to say Willett.

It's one of the few that you can make a reasonable facsimile with a piece of wood,
a marker and a hanger bolt & tap ferrule.

I think my local bartender is gonna choke me one of these days after asking
    every time I stop in:
"So, what's on the Kane tap?"
"Head High  (for the !@#$ fiftieth time!)."

I've had the same reaction with Head High. I really cannot wait for Hop Lab Citra to be more out there. I had it at a bar next to my apartment and was going almost everyday. What a great, great beer. Some of their releases have made me take Head High and Overhead for granted since I always see them on tap.

Overhead is just okay IMO - Head High is one of the best IPAs I've ever had. And I've had the pleasure of having some very sought-after IPAs.

A few months ago I had overhead that went from tank to keg just a few hours before the brewery opened and it was one of the best I have ever had. Normally I would take Head High but if I know there is fresh Overhead on, I always go for that.
