BA GBS and Christmas Morning will see distribution, most likely through Hardywood's entire footprint. There's literally no reason to wait in line for those, unless you want to be one of the first few people to get bottles. Trickery release was probably one of their worst run releases because they only had two checkout stations, and there was enough of that beer that hit distro (and lasted at the brewery that evening) that people didn't need to wait in line. AB GBS and Kentucky Chrsitmas Morning will be more limited than the other two variants, but I bet they both at least see small distro, seeing Christmas Morning hit distro last year (and was somewhat limited). Hardywood is brewing so much GBS this year, it's insane. It's sitting at places this year because there is so much. If they release all variants at 11 like they are doing BA GBS, then 8 is more than early enough to get bottles, and honestly, you could show up at 2 and still get bottles more than likely. The issue for BA GBS will be that they are having a craft show there that day, so you will have beer geeks and non-beer geeks there, and it will be pretty crowded.

If I had to put money on it I would bet that Christmas Morning on the 12th and AB GBS, KY Christmas Morning on the 19th will be released at 2pm. I think they only reason they are opening at 11am for BGBS is because Screens n' Suds is the same day at 2pm.

With that said for BGBS I don't plan on getting there early. I'll get there around 12ish. Right after a nice lunch and beers at Mekong.

Yeah, this - no need to drive up for those as it wasn't that hard to get a bottle BGBS and Christmas morning as they were distro'd to VA beach and elsewhere. However as of yet I'm not aware of any Trickery that came in our area and just a guess but probably AB & KYBGS may be the same way, leading to more non-rva'ers driving there.

Hardywood doesn't distribute to NC. Where in NC do you live?

Gotcha, well, if the trip is worth it to you, the regular Gingerbread Stout seems pretty available in Danville, VA right now. I was there a couple of nights ago and Food Lion had a few bottles. Vintages by the Dan probably has some as well.

Should be able to pickup GBS also at Virginia Caps & Corks in Danville I would expect.

Have you been there? I have not. I am wondering how it compares to Vintages.

I picked up a single at Whole Foods when I was in Richmond, before I even knew I was going to the brewery. PROBABLY should have got more than one.

I have never been there. Only know it's a bottle shop in Danville and did a quick check of their fb page to see they posted about having GBS.

Cool. Vintages is decent, but not great as far as inventory, so I was just curious. I go there occasionally if am looking for something that doesn't come to NC, but Danville is Danville, and probably would not support the volume a world-class shop usually has. Their staff is great though.

Hey, now: Easy on Danville! Glad you bounced back with the "staff is great" comment! We have friends-who-are-like-family from Danville. Cheers!

 No offense intended. I lived there for several years in the 90s, and have lived near it off and on for most of my life.

Costco in Charlottesville had them for $8.59. I would assume the location in H'Burg would be similar. The price gap among locations is crazy. Someone posted a Wegman's in NOVA going for $7.99.
