Luckily so far in this region we have avoided huge hyped/expensive/whales.
It sucks to see this coming here now with people getting all excited about BCBS..i hope to goodness it doesn't spread to other beers.

And once again for those looking in..all the beer is horrible, and not at all rare in the PNW.
    Not worth the effort folks.

I have no feelings about this at all, as its arrival has virtually no impact on my life.

I like BCBS and I won't mind seeing it around. Maybe I'll buy a bottle or a glass if I see some around town, but it's not something I plan to go out of way for. There are plenty of excellent, alternative BA stouts options around that are cheaper and far easier to come by. Also, my closet is currently well stocked with KDS and coffee KDS, a beer I happen to feel is superior to BCBS.

On the other hand, those that feel BCBS is the be all and end all when it comes to barrel aged stouts, I wish them nothing but success with their attempts to land some. Cheers!

As, again, someone who has never had any of these, I cannot wait to pick up a few bottles.

Definitely a great beer. The variants are also really well done every year. there is obviously lots of hype, but when the brewers came to portland a year ago and did a small Q&A at Produce Row, I left with a new respect for the amount of time and work they put in to the Bourbon County project every year. they source super high quality ingredients, and from what I can tell their quality control is top notch (ive never had a bad bottle).

While I will agree with John M that there are other BA stouts that are easier to come by, there arent many that are cheaper or better. the last few years you could buy 12oz bottles for $5 or $6, which equates to $12 for a 24oz. For a beer of this quality, that is a helluva deal. The variants obviously cost more (and Rare is $60, which is just dumb).

I agree that KDS and Coffee KDS are just as good(if not better), but there arent too many others floating around the NW on a regular basis that can compare. Seems like a lot of PNW breweries are completely comfortable charging about $20 for a 22oz of barrel aged stout or barleywine.

So to summarize...it sounds like lots of places will have Bourbon County, and lots of people still feel strongly about inBev. Cool.

Is there any specifics on which places, though? Bottle shop, store, or tap wise?

Total Wine will have it. I heard the Lynwood store is getting 13 cases or something of the regular BCBS. Already in the back. Don't try, they won't give you any now.

I have seen regular bcbs on tap twice, once in chicago midway airport and once in puyallup. I have only seen bottles once, at the end of December and it was in a little ass town in eastern oregon when visiting my mother. I picked up six four packs without markup. I plan on heading back this year.

You "should" be able to walk into my shop on Black Friday(AM at least), and buy BCBS. Four bottle limit for regular. One of each of the variants(no Rare, sorry).

Pint Defiance just posted on FB that they'll be tapping a keg of 2015 BCBS, along with Abyss, when they open at 10am Black Friday.

@thebeerjunction So, should we line up out in the parking lot in the back or out front on Friday, Morgan?

Not really sure what to expect (no line, some line, or long line).

For consistency line up in the back hallway (near the double doors to the store). If there's a long line we'll hand out tickets for order. I'll put a sign up at the front door directing folks to go to the back entrance.

Not used to this line thing-- no rare beer in Washington after all

And I've never been to a rare beer release, so I figured may as well try it at least once! Good luck on Friday! And if you see a bearded fat guy with a green Mickeys Malt Liquor shirt on, that's me

Total Wine has it at 9am. Doesn't say what bottles on the GI website.

Question is: Will the stock at Total Wine be old and outdated par the course with a lot of their stuff...... Only kidding, as I know getting your hands on older Bourbon County is actually a good thing.

I called the distro and there's only 3 places getting a couple cases of regular each within 35 miles of me. But I did snag some coffee KDS a couple weekends ago.
