If reg BCBS is $15-20 per bottle I will...

  1. Buy fewer bottles than what I really want

    62.8%
  2. Buy about 3-5 bottles and call it a day

    24.1%
  3. Buy as many bottles I can find still. Price is no object.

    13.1%

Not to mention a lot of local breweries have been asking for the same price or worse for regular, non barrel aged offerings.

11.99 is the most I have seen so far and, 9.99 to 10.99 is fair price to pay compared to other barrel aged stouts. I think the fact that Bud owns the rights to Goose Island will turn some away. Remember this , Bud leaves the core Goose Islannd beers alone to the original brewers to develop on there own.

Probably not going to see any and seeing as how I am PA I feel the markup pain. They would do the same here 18-20 bucks for the taste of this "rare" release. I hate living here sometimes

    • Goose Island Bourbon County Stout -$10.99
    • Bourbon County Barleywine - $12.99
    • Bourbon County Coffee Stout - $12.99
    • Bourbon County Rare - $59.99
    • Bourbon County Regal Rye - $24.99
So To Equate these prices to 22oz bombers :
    • Goose Island Bourbon County Stout -$14.30 ( I would pay this all day long for this beer )
    • Bourbon County Barleywine - $16.91 (reasonable for what it is)
    • Bourbon County Coffee Stout - $16.91 (reasonable for what it is)
    • Bourbon County Rare - $78.10 ( Ouuuuuuuuuuch! )
    • Bourbon County Regal Rye - $32.53 ( on the fence )

Ouch, I feel very lucky to have paid a lot less for the variants. The cost of the BCBBS, BCCS, BCBWS at on store was 18.99 a 4 pack. I did pay up to 22.99 for the BCBBS 4 pack in Evansville, Indiana. I would pay 5$ a 12oz and 10$ a 500ml any day and time due to what I perceive as a fair value.

Why does this poll not have the option "Will not buy"?
Also, as a side note, Mr. Dunderbak's in Daytona will be selling BCBS rare for ~$100 dollars. Apparently their distributor (S.R. Perrott) told them to sell it for $125 dollars a piece because its rare and people are willing to pay it.

With prices edging higher and higher, I am starting to look for alternatives at a better price point as things approach $15-20. It's starting to get a bit ridiculous and over $20 is just not justifiable with all the options out there.

All but the Regal seems reasonable. I was thinking that the $9.99 MSRP for all (but rare) would mean a reasonable price for the variant, but if the prices around here are the same, that will be tough to justify buying multiple when I got Vanilla Rye for $22 last year. I guess that's only a problem if multiple Regals will be available to be had though.

Okay, I live in OWENSBORO KENTUCKY, if you are being charged more than 10-11$ a bottle in your area then it is time to tell your supplier to drop dead. My town is not a beer Mecca but we got at least 13 cases. The prices per bottle ranged from 9.99 to 11.99 a bottle which I think is more than fair for a 16.9oz/500ml bottle.

One place will go to $15, I like the store for some things but they jack the prices for others...Found another that is more reasonable ($10.99) but less selection. My comment was a bit more general than just the BCBS...Buyer Beware

I'll buy a bottle if I see it. I'll get it on tap if it pops up around me, like it did last January. If I can't get a bottle, I won't be too broken up. It's a great stout, sure, but there are a lot of great barrel aged stouts out there.

It's not worth that much BUT we will all buy at least 1. Rare, 125$ Fuck that. It's great marketing and branding. No beer is worth that. Although there is always the argument that anything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay I guess. I'm sure they will sell em all. My lips will never taste!

I am very Lucky to have several hard to find barrel aged stouts due to the connections Gammbrinus Libations has with there distributors. And, what I have found is that if you can find BCBS for 9.99 a 500Ml bottle then it is a Bargain.

The predominant opinion is that this will be $9-$11. We'll know very soon. Many stores don't wait until black Friday
