I agree. I understand it's upsetting. The best thing to do is just walk away. Forget about the guy. It's not worth the stress.

You really sent him another message after all this time?

Dude we all knew you were never going to see those extras. It was best to chalk it up as a bad trading experience and label him as such in your profile.

He is a douche for agreeing to extras and not sending them/making it right. It is expensive to send a second box but it was was fault and he should have eaten that cost. I understand all that, but clearly nothing you do is going to get you some extras now. Even if he did send a box, after this thread and all your messages it would probably contain old IPAs or something else you wouldn't want to drink anyway.

The "harassing", justified or not, is putting this thread into this forum, and inviting others to your page to find the douchebag's name. It's done, we know he's a dick. Time to move on. Have you ever received +7.00 more extras than you have sent? It all evens out.

The point was not to finally get the extras from him - I absolutely do not care about receiving anything from him at this point. I have let that go.

The point was, I guess, to give him one last chance to explain himself, and, if not, label him as a bad trader, which a lot of people wanted me to do from the beginning.

I have gone back and forth on this from the beginning - no matter what has happened, there is a huge part of me that doesn't like calling people out like this. And opinions have varied greatly from all of you fellow BA's about what I should do.

My mistake yesterday was seeing him try to trade again, getting angry, and BM'ing him. I should have cooled down for awhile, and then just let it go. But, I didn't. If he ends up on the bad trader list - fine - I do think that he deserves it. If not - oh well - I'll obviously never contact the guy again.

Dont know how much my opinion is worth on this as I only have a hadful of trades to my name, but I have been around on this site (and the other one) for a while and I agree with you 100%. This situation would have pissed me off to no end. People need to forget about "trading etiquette" for a second and just focus on what it means to act the right way in general. When you agree upon a trade and, in this instance, specifically agree to trade extras, they are no longer extras. While you may not know what the specific bottles will be, they have become a part of the trade. They should have been included. Trading is not rocket science...send what was agreed upon on the day it is supposed to be sent...period. Anyone who doesnt fit that bill, in my mind, becomes, at the very least, someone I will not trade with again and, at the worst, a bad trader.

It was agreed that "extras" would be sent, so he didn't send his end of the deal in this case.

I guess he doesn't have the finances to send you anything because his finances are tied up trading for Beatification. In this case, he's either a liar, or is extremely clever in his wording.

As an aside, you'd all be surprised how many people "suggest" what beers the'd like as potential extras, but don't even consider sending any extras themselves. Even some veterans do this. If I can give some advice to some of the new guys, only send extras if YOU want to send them, and if you don't care at all if you get something in return. Never *agree* to send extras then. Just keep them as surprises.

This guy has a ft up right now. If it were to get reported would it get taken down since this guy is a bad trader?

Only if the FT thread contains a completely innocuous JPEG or link to a youtube video that one of 300,000 BA users finds offensive.

If I were oldport I don't know whether I would consent to putting this guy on the bad trader list.

IMHO, even if you talk about extras, they are still extra, you got the body of the trade even if you think the trade body got bigger when both sides agreed to extras. No bottles were discussed specifically, and it is like in The Bank Dick when W.C. Fields gets "a hearty hand clasp" as his reward from the bank mgr. You got air for your extra, he is a slick guy we all now will not trade with, but that list, IMHO, is not for this offense.

To me an extra is just that , an extra, even if it is agreed upon to send extras. Based on what I have read, would I trade with this guy? No, but not sending extras shouldn't land him on the bad traders list.

Personally, I guess it doesn't matter to me whether he makes it to the list or not, because I know not to trade with him any more. But, will others have grief in the future by trading with him? I don't know.

I agree with the 'DICK MOVE' list idea.

I'd put him on the dick move list if there is one. But he came through on the main part of the trade, so putting him on the bad trader list would be a bit harsh IMO.

But I'm new, so don't mind me...but to me extras are extras. I usually tell people I included extras after I've provided the tracking. Because to me extras are just that, extras. I think there was one trade where we agreed upon extras prior to shipping, but I didn't tell him what I sent, and he didn't tell me.

I met the trader in question back in November when I made my very first in person trade with him. He was definitely a nice guy and our in person trade was great. Even shared a beer or three with him and met his family.

Sucks to hear that he didn't come through on the 'randoms/extras' you agreed to. If his excuse for not sending extras after you questioned him was that he didn't have the finances, then yeah, I wouldn't think he'd be active in the trade forums until the finances improved.

Hate to hear this type of stuff when you've traded and met the person. He and his family were really nice. He's definitely mishandled this, but I wouldn't label him a bad trader. Hopefully he'll make right.
