Bourbon County thread (NJ PA NY)

Well they way i see it is...if I come across it I will buy some but I'm not going out of my way for it. I've had it soooo many times over the years and, quite frankly, it's not all that hard to find bourbon stouts these days.

 

What an awful way to distribute allotments.

Any guesses on the basic to platinum/basic to gold ratios?

It's funny because I feel the same way, but for some reason I am trying to find it anyway. In the end I will probably do what I do each year, not get any on Black Friday and find some random bottles 3 or 4 months later. I still have 2013 and 14 in my cellar anyway, and plenty of it.

 

Or line up at 11pm in NYC. Seems logical

link worked for me. Basically:

Doors open at 10 "grab your sleeping bags"
Receive a number at the register which randomly generates which package you are able to purchase
Platinum - $86 gets you 2 stouts, 2 barley wines, 1 regal rye
Gold - $61 gets you 1 stout, 2 barley wines, 1 coffee
Reserve - $27 gets you 1 stout, 1 barley wine
Basic - $22 gets you 2 stouts

Those are actually quite good prices.
The cost per bottle is REALLLLLY high for regal rye, like double that of base BCBS

As for being released in december, depends on your area/wholesaler. Id try to talk to your retailers about who thinks theyre getting it for black friday, but a good portion will get it december because GI didnt give distributors new pricing in time for november price posting. If its already in some areas, it will be quite the mess for wholesalers to clean up invoice pricing in december

 

The price for regal rye is exactly that of coffee and barleywine at the GI sanctioned event at Top Hops in NYC, $12.99.

Im not sure if they are getting a better price then others because of sheer quantity, or maybe NY has such different pricing, but thats below what the PTR cost per bottle is here in jersey lol

I reaal ycan't see myself lining up outsie before doors open for possibly only 2 bottles. And best case scenario 5. Only one of which is special. Others you could just track down last years.

 

Found both stout and barleywine yesterday, north jersey, bought all they had. I'm happy.

 

And everyone else is unhappy...

Any word on regal rye in NJ? I was able to already get regular, coffee and barleywine but have had no luck with Regal and no one seems to have a clue.

Also, is it safe to assume NJ won't see any rare?

 

Just starting a thread seeing if anyone has seen Bourbon County hit the shelves early. I know it has been seen in north Jersey.
