Boulevard: Favorite and Least Favorite

    I thought this would be a good brewery for this thread because they really expanded their distro from what i hear and they have a large, diverse selection. Please try and choose only one favorite and one least favorite, with one honorable mention if desired. cheers and looking foreword to your thoughts.

    Favorite:Love Child #5. Probably my favorite sour, such a damn good beer.

    Least favorite: Snow and Tell, i found the texture and taste of this one to be weak and watery, very disappointed since i love this brewery so much.

    Honorable mention: Barrel aged Imperial Stout. very underrated BA stout IMO.

    Favorite is dark truth, just an outstanding beer, one of my favorite beers period.
    Least favorite is sixth glass I didn't enjoy the yeast character, I'll be revisiting t to see if I got a bad bottle because it's their only beer I didn't enjoy.

    hey man to each their own but i'd revisit, i thought sixth glass was pretty damn good when i had it with a pretty subtle yeast character for the style.

    Favorite: Saison-Brett. Just a stupidly good Brett-forward saison.

    "Least" Favorite: Imperial Stout X - Tart Cherry. I actually don't dislike this beer but it's the lowest on the list of what I've had from them this far I think. Preferred the Aztec Chocolate variant much more.

    Honorable Mention: Tank 7 and Love Child #5. Tank 7 is my go-to saison and LC#5 is a very well balanced, nicely complex sour with a lot of flavor.

    Overall I think they're a pretty stellar brewery with a solid lineup, and I'm glad to see them expanding.

    From what I've had I'd say:

    favorite: Saison-Brett

    least favorite: Pop-up Session IPA

    I have only had a few of the Smokestack limited release beers with no "leasts" to be found.:slight_smile:

    Definitely hear you on both accounts, love saison brett, pretty unimpressed by pop up session.

    Yeah, I really wonder if I got an infected bottle it was a gusher when I opened it and then had a ver strong phenolic taste. I have loved everything else boulevard makes and I love quads so I think I should enjoy it,

    Favorite : Saison Brett, love child, tank 7..long strange tripel....Saison Brett probably is my favorite tho..

    Least: Tell tale tart I get it wasn't supposed to be super sour but it just didn't do it for me still not terrible stuff just least favorite I've tried from them.

    I've only had one beer from Boulevard, that's Dark Truth. I need to try more they have great distribution in SoCal.

    Fav: Aztec Chocolate and Tank 7
    Least Fav: 80-acre Hoppy Wheat - one of their best sellers, but there are several in the style that I find considerably better.

    Favorite: Tank 7. Just a great go to saison for me.
    Least favorite: Chocolate ale. Didn't click for me, maybe it's because I'm trained to have chocolate beers in the form of stouts or porters...

    Least: Dark Truth (maybe a case of the wrong beer at the wrong time)
    Favorite still in production: Tank 7

    A really solid brewery. Would try (and revisit) anything from them.

    boulevard is easily the most consistent brewery(for my own personal taste in beer). the only brewery from which i will buy/order anything without looking into the beer whatsoever because i know it will be good.

    favorite: the sixth glass, believe the hype
    least favorite: no idea, i guess i'll second pop-up by virtue of it being a session IPA
