I think that's about right. Of course, it's a ticketed pour event. So going past that, you end up paying more if you buy more tickets.

It'd be cool if they had Inaugural IMBIBE members get in for the cost of renewing their membership again this year like they did 2 years ago. Since outside of the early hour of FOBAB, there isn't much benefit to being in IMBIBE.

...My only qualm is that they made that big push "Be an inaugaral IMBIBE Member! Get benefits future IMBIBE Members don't!" and they haven't distinguished that for awhile..

I've thought about ponying up for the IMBIBE membership, but can't seem to find much (any?) info on what benefits it has beyond providing some fundage to the ICBG... anyone out there that can chime in I'm all ears...

This is what's listed on the website http://www.illinoisbeer.com/imbibe/

    For $35 you get

    2012 IMBIBE Membership gives you:
    – 1 hour early entry into FoBAB 2012 (must have ticket purchased for entry)
    – An Illinois Craft Brewers Guild growler koozie – FREE
    – End of year “Celebration of Illinois Craft Beer” party, hosted by Peter L. Crowley at Haymarket Pub & Brewery

That isnt too bad really. Ill be getting one for my girlfriend. Not a fan of any beer really but she seems to like fruit/sours so at least itll be an event we can both enjoy.

How much were extra tasting tickets? And as always i have to ask about merch. Do they have shirts or glasses and whatnot? I hate missing a chance to buy more stuff for her to get mad at :grinning:

Yeah. I guess one benefit has been that we can renew for $20 still while the going rate is up to $35. Not sure if that's still the case since there doesn't appear to be any differentiation on the new website for a renewal and new signup.

It would be nice for more contact & benefits. The last communication I received from them regarding IMBIBE was in September of last year for FOBAB pre-sale tickets.

Yeah, since the ICBG Yearly Meeting/Elections I was hassling about updating it (especially since the new website didn't carry over the old login portal for IMBIBE Members).. because a lot of people have been really clueless as to what the status was.

    Nope.

Me AND my fiance are both inaugaral IMBIBE members for that reason.

I don't believe they've ever done one before. I know they were supposed to have a party at Haymarket back in Feb 2010 that was cancelled because of the giant snowstorm we had. I never made it if they rescheduled it.

Either way, if I wasn't a charter member I'd have a real hard time ponying up $35. The extra hour for FOBAB is nice, but you still use your tickets so it's not like you're getting extra drinks from what you would get normally. One of the great things about FOBAB is it's not overly crowded even when it's at full capacity.

Been to FOBAB the last 3 years, and it might be my favorite beer festival. Unfortunately it being later in the month and it being a lot further from my friends place than the last venue might not work out well.

Meh, already joined lol the end of the year party and the koozie and the extra hour might not be worth 35 bucks...but i think it is a solid donation

It's hard to justify an extra $35 for an extra hour of drinking at any festival. I was absolutely wiped out by the end of GTOM, and i couldnt have likely lasted another minute at the pace without getting sick the next morning at the pace i went
