DC/MD/NoVA Bourbon County Stout Sightings 2015

So I work in transportation and of course will be busy as hell during black friday and the weekend. I won't be off during any store's open hours until monday. Any chance a store in the area will still have some left?

 

Norm's sent their weekly email but it only listed regular BCBS $10.49/ea 2 pp, no mentions of any of the variants. I wonder if they aren't getting anything else or are keeping it a surprise for now.

 

Yeah this was pretty disappointing. Wonder why they had no limits, really gave only a few people a shot at quite a few cases.

Fyi - I Called a TW in VB that sold early last year and they told me it was in but they are waiting until Friday.

 

FWIW Virginia Eagle for NoVA received 14 cases of Coffee for their entire distribution footprint (NOVA, Charlottesville, the Valley/Hburg, Winchester and Roanoke/Lynchburg), and all 14 stayed in NOVA. Obviously no Rare, Regal or VR.

 

MixItUp isn't the best, have told friends of mine they don't package things like La Folie so you won't find bottles of them. Also put a limit of 1 per person on Not Your Fathers. Not the sharpest.

 

Well if you are still looking in Montgomery County MD you may be out of luck but your best bet is to try Elbe's in Wheaton.

Just the regular though, they still have some left. best of luck.

 

Which Variants does TW in VaBCH usually get?

 

Last year they had BW & coffee.

 

I been calling the 4 near me everyday because they get on my nerves with them "not knowing". But i honestly think they do not know. They don't know the quantity limit i have heard one and I said the bottle is 5 oz more then last year and last year I could get one four pack. When I said that they didn't quite know either.

 

That's where i got a four pack last year for $20.99.

 

I think that they may be bringing a few bottles, but maybe those were just for Nahem (the beer director there), he told me that he was going to open one up with me, haha.

 

As you have found out, calling TW is usually a waste of time (a lot of the employees know nothing about beer), you are much better off just stopping by the store and talking to someone in person. Also, I don't think TW really feels the need to advertise the release as they know whatever they get will sell out within hours. You know they are getting some so just stop by on Friday AM or maybe even today.

 

That's probably why I don't have many friends IRL.

FWIW, here's what I heard about WF P St. They have everything-- 1 case of Rare, a couple of Regal, 3-4 each of Coffee and Barleywine, and 15 or so of Regular. However, the bottle limits are very high - 1/pp of Rare, 1 or 2 for Regal, 3-4 for Coffee and BW, and up to a case for Regular. In other words, the first 15-20 people could clean them out.

 

When's the release?

 

Friday morning at 9. Last year people started lining up outside the store at 4 or 5 am; I'd guess it'll be worse this year.

 

Bottle limits per person at Schneider's for those interested: Regular - 4, Barleywine & Coffee - 2, Regal & Rare - 1. Sounds like they have a ton of Regular and a good amount of Barleywine, but the rest will all go quickly.
