DC/MD/NoVA Bourbon County Stout Sightings 2015

Was it sitting out? I didn't see any and kinda got the vibe the cashier was lying to me when I asked if they had any left

 

Any sightings in Hagerstown/Frederick/Germantown area? Striking out on variants all over the place!

Beers and Cheers in Germantown somehow got a bottle of Rare but I missed it by 30 minutes. I haven't heard of any variants making it to Frederick. Riverside still has regular but they're charging $15.99 a bottle so I passed. All other shops are sold out.

What's Churchkey looking like right now?

 

Pretty solid experience for me. Arrived around 7AM, setup shop in my camp chair and dealt with the cold for 2.5 hours. I was around 40th in line. At first there was chatter about potentially only having 6 bottles of Rare per case due to the box taking up additional space so I was a bit worried that I'd just miss it. I was able to snag one though. Pretty smooth all-in-all; would repeat next year.

 

What was the price?

 

$80 for the Rare (I know, I know).

Anyone have any leads on growler fills? TW Sterling said they're not doing them until tomorrow.

 

Probably not helpful but TW Springfield had regular for fills but it's most likely gone by now. Seems like when they get kegs its singlets so you have to move fast.

 

For my brethren in the outer rim, Macdowell Brew Kitchen in Leesburg has 2015 BCBS on tap right now.

 

TW Chantilly/W. Fairfax only were selling regular, 1 limit. This new format for regular sucks - I've gotten 4 packs in the past at Total Wine's. They also had BW boxes but I guess weren't selling it yet...not sure why. Behind the counter. Whole Foods Fair Lakes didn't have any yet and said they haven't received their shipment - not sure if I believe that. They'll post on Facebook when it's available.

 

Whole Foods Fair Lakes did receive it, posted it, and now sold out. I guess you don't check FB enough.

 

You needed to be in line at opening at TW Chantilly to get anything other than regular. Got Coffee and Barleywine.

 

I'm curious as well. That tap list online looks like a wet dream (other than what your bar tab will look like). They have Rare, Vanilla 14, Rye 15, Coffee 14/15, and bot regular and barleywine 14/15 listed.

 

I showed up five minutes after opening and got barleywine and stout. There were three left after me. Also stopped by Wegmans in Sterling around 3pm and they had plenty regular. 1pp

 

Sorry I just saw this, not that it mattered - the Rare was plentiful.

I picked it up at 10:30 at the TW in Springfield, VA.

It has an overpowering bourbon aroma and taste.

 

I was able to score a Regal Rye, Coffee, and Rare at Petite Cellars.

 

What were they charging and did you camp out?
