Thanks, it looks like my friend who is driving up there is dead set on checking out the Wine Seller because they have good reviews as a bottle shop, and I'm imaging they are already well sold out. I was hoping he would go to the Blue Front lottery but it doesn't look like its happening.

for what its worth. i was told by a store owner up here that if Goose Island hears of any extreme pricing then they will try to have the allocation pulled. $21 per is something i would have reported.

Just called another place and they want $22.99 per bottle. B&B liquor and wine valley liquor. Won't be picking up the other bottles. I can't believe that they are charging that price... Don't looking for the year.

Wine Seller is a great store (my favorite in A2), but yeah they sold out immediately this morning. Still worth a stop though.

I am happy to just have 2 bottles of regular and a barley wine. Would have really liked a coffee though.

That was 2nd place of the day though as then I hit up a tapping, met @PrestigeWorldwide while there, and had 14 reg, 15 reg, 15 coffee, 14 vanilla rye and a couple people were nice enough to let me taste some cherry rye and big John :grinning::grinning:

Can't go wrong with that at all

Wow at some of the prices shops are charging for this....

FWIW, I was able to buy 3 regular @ 9.99, 1 barleywine @ 14-16, and 1 rye @ 20 or so at the same shop. I then had a damn box of rare (or whatever you want to call it) placed in my hands, at which point I shit off the 65 for that (a little steep but still a fair price considering...)

I said to the cashier while buying the rare "I guess you gotta live a little..." and she just shook her head at me (as my Wife will do once she finds out about my stupidity on the bottle of rare haha).

Hearing that Rare is $80-$120 in other states so I would say $5 over GI price is good

Yea, the price gouging in Oakland County is fierce. Picked up a bottle of regular at one store for $20...it's a crappy feeling getting taken advantage like that when you're desperate. A different place charged $16.99 for another bottle so that felt like a deal after the first place.

The third place I drove to was a total joke. The liquor store employee stated he was getting a bunch of bourbon county in on a truck in 30 minutes. And he was pretty sure he was going to get some Rare so that got my attention. As I waited for the truck to show up, we started to talk price. According to some online postings he was just looking up, he wanted to start the price bidding around $200. I let him know that was a total ripoff and wasn't looking to spend more than $80-90. Hearing that, he changed his tune and said "let's see what shows up, then we'll talk."

30 minutes past and the delivery truck arrived....no Rare showed up. After that experience and the dozens of calls I made earlier in the day, I called it a night.

Kinda bummed that coffee and rare did not hit the Lansing area (from what I could tell), but still came back with a nice haul and a good time.

Crunchys had some nice vintages for carryout and was able to enjoy a cherry rye as well as the nice selection on draft. The 2014 vanilla rye and 2015 coffee on draft were great. It was kind of neat to have a tart, a bitter, and a sweet BCBS variant all in one sitting.

    Overall, a very fun day.

i certainly dont miss trying to buy Bourbon County in Oakland County. the prices were just ridiculous for the most part. still a few good stores around though. Pine Knob Wine shop and Alexs Market are two of the worst i encountered.

I stopped at Crunchy's on the way back from Odd Side. Definitely expected it to be busier than it was. Most of the bottled offerings were gone but I loved the Vanilla Rye.

Hearing the stories and pricing in here makes me glad that I went to visit family in Texas for Thanksgiving. I got 4 bottles of regular and 2 bottles of Rare for MSRP, and then picked up a case of regular several hours later for $108.

It's stupid how little BCBS Ann Arbor (really the whole state) gets. I had an easier time getting everything (minus the whole GI fucking up in getting label approval on time in Texas) than people at LP Binny's from everything I've seen.

I would have paid $65 for Rare no problem. Heard it was going from $80-$120/bottle in Oakland and Wayne. Also heard of one place that wouldn't sell you BC unless you also bought a six-pack of another Goose Island product. That enranged me.

Pine Knob can kiss my ass - done with that place. $13 for a KBS last year. Paid $8/beer for Backwoods Bastard. What did they charge you for BCBS? I wouldn't doubt $25?
