    Outside of the metro.

Westside Liquor in Waite Park got it Wednesday, put it out for sale Wednesday, and sold out Wednesday. All they got was regular, no variants.

So there really was less Coffee than there was Rare. AB are a bunch of dicks. I've got a bag of Intelligentsia here, maybe I should throw BCBS in my coffee pot instead of water and give it a shot.

It was nice that GI sent us more variants this year. Not thrilled about the price for the variants being the same as previous years given the size change.

Ran into a few times where stores posted pictures on twitter that they had variants but then refused to sell them. Also ran into price gouging (Ex: $80 + tax for rare and $17 + tax for coffee). Par for the course I guess.

Definitely seemed like more people out hunting this year than prior years.

Put some of those beans in a french press with some regular for 15-30 minutes. You won't be disappointed.

You can do it that way, but Goose brews the coffee separately as cold press then blends regular bcbs with cold press coffee. It's reaalllly simple to do at home for anyone who needs their bcbcs fix.

Any places releasing later? I know Top Valu is doing theirs on the 5th, and Heritage isn't releasing until beer geek christmas.

Very disappointed with EP liquors. I work a block away so I stop in 2-3 times a week. I'd certainly hope I'm what they consider a "regular customer".

Stopped in Wednesday and talked to the manager/beer guy and he told me they'd be getting everything but since he had to enter it into the system it wouldn't be sold until he got into work. Asked him what time he'd get in he said it depended on how much fun he had Thursday night. Said the best bet was to call. Called around opening time and they said they didn't have anything. The aforementioned @holzwama stopped in and they said to "check back tomorrow". Called an hour later and they were sold out.

    Solid customer service.

if you are still on the hunt, just snagged some BCBS, BCBBW and BCBCS at Lakeside in Long Lake (didnt ask what was left).

pucker up those cheeks though, the prices were pretty bad. $14.99 and $19.99.

Yeah the one dude at EPL on Den Rd was simply lying to our face(s).

There was a pack of about 5-6 of us there at open and they guy said it hadn't been delivered yet and they had no idea when to expect it. Went to another EPL location - the guy there said he had just talked to the delivery guy, and he was about to drop at Den Rd. Went BACK to Den Rd and the same guy there said yeah, it's on its way, but no one would be there that day to enter it into the system and to come back tomorrow. We knew he was full of shit and he knew we knew he was full of shit. I asked him, point blank, if it would be worth stopping back in yesterday to check - he shrugged his shoulders and said maybe. Of course, as mentioned before, an hour later everything was gone.

Look, I've worked as a beer buyer on KBS and BCS days before, and can fully empathize with how annoying it is to deal with people on big releases like this. No way around it, it fucking sucks. And if you aren't a beer dork, it creates even more disdain within you for those of us falling over ourselves to buy as many $20 bottles as we can. But I simply can't wrap my head around being so dismissive and intentionally misleading customers by giving them information/advice that you KNOW won't yield what they're looking for.

He may have been "protecting" his allotment for his regular customers. I have no issue with that, but the guy should at least be honest.

When KBS came out last April, I called a store and the guy flatly told me their KBS shipment was for their regulars only. He was a jerk about it, but at least I knew where I stood, and knew not to waste my time going there.

I understand the beer-geek frustration by store workers for these events. However, one cannot wonder how they are going to attract new customers by treating them like crap. I was a beer-crasher at Zipps and Falls when P-Sue came out, and was treated very well. They are too far away for me to go for regular business, but my positive experience with those two stores still resonates with me.

Right, holding for regulars is one thing. We understand that places do that. As a regular customer of that particular store I asked on Wednesday if they were doing a list or holding back for regulars (they held some last year so figured they'd do that again). He told me they wouldn't be doing that, just to stop up or call. Stopping up and calling obviously wasn't the answer either so congrats to whoever they were actually willing to sell beer to.

Make that "one cannot help but wonder"...my grammar seems to have been affected by the presence of BCBS, and the fact that I'm occasionally stupid...well, maybe more than occasionally...

My brother just got the last two bottles at the EP Liquors off of 5 by Kowalskis. The lady told him there was no limit so he was able to get both. Probably just salt in the wound for some people, but fwiw, they were the only two bottles he was able to get.

did not know that. makes sense on the pricing then. sadly, figured it was the last chance for another coffee.

i shop at Lakeside every so often but the limited release stuff has started to become out of reach on the pricing.
