Oh, so you're the reason that the rest of us can't have nice things? I don't even wanna know how many people you had killed to get that...

*I* thought they were all good, but I really liked the chocolate raspberry on nitro. Wow.

Unfortunately, his kind is all too common in beer these days. They've switched from Pokemon cards to beer.

Nice. That was similar to me when I was at Whole Foods Southlake Union. Was talking with an employee in the beer section and he mentioned they still had about a case left if I wanted to grab some. I mentioned I choose not to buy stuff from AB/Inbev and left it on the shelf. Saw tons of other people come in during my short time there that came in to get some though!

shout out to all the tickers yesterday who walked away with a haul that wasn't exclusively BCBS. if you're serious about your beer and don't have your heads in the clouds with hype, it's impossible to walk away from a place like chucks/beer junction/bobs purchasing *only* BCBS. i was enjoying a delicious workhorse at chucks and watching the chaos unfold around me, but was happy to see plenty of bottles come off the shelves from breweries less than 2,000 miles away. also shoutout to chucks for having a raffle for rare and donating proceeds to the seattle humane society. i thought that was wonderful.

I tried all but rare on tap and they are all great beers and i know people will always buy them no matter the price but in my opinion for the quality of the beer and the bottle format this years BourbonCounty variants are an absolute rip off, besides the coffee which i think was the same price as the regular, but $20 for Regal Rye and $60 for Rare. Fuck that shit man i would rather buy a bottle of nice whiskey and have it last more than one night. Plus i liked the Coffee better than the Regal why is Regal $20 (rip off alert!!!). I didnt even buy any bottles this year, too dam expensive

Yes. I finally found Christmas BOMB!. Also found other things I had been looking for but had since already managed to fill. Would've grabbed BBomb 2015 but was already planning to head over to the release party in the evening.

I thought that RR was set at the same retail price as reg and coffee, but was just getting inflated by some of the retailers due to rarity and demand? I didn't get any so I don't actually know...

Dont they make so much of this stuff now, that if it weren't for the insane hype..it should cost the same as say a bomber of lagunitas!
If i see it around here i will scroll past.

This is the fascinating part of the BCBS phenomenon--Goose Island probably has the biggest storage facility for its barrel program at 143,000 sq ft. I can't think of any other barrel-aged beer produced at this kind of scale, yet you have people camping out overnight in the cold for it.

Here's a couple of pic of their West Side Barrel Warehouse

But that's the idea, right? Huge production, widely though shallowly distributed, all to stoke hype.

Definitely by design, which is why I have a hard time participating in these black friday shenanigans.

Talking to a local brewer and even up here for small brewers Budweiser Bourbon County is making purchasing old barrels very difficult with the vast volume.
I hope the hype ends and the b*stards fall

I maintained the discipline this year. Had a couple off draft (@thebeerjunction) and really no desire to drop serious coin on hoarding this stuff or traveling all over the city to score. Been there, done that a couple times in Midwest. Just not worth it here in Pacific Northwest. Too many other good choices. I simply can't imagine buying a case of it, unless this is truly your dream beer to savior throughout the year similar to that special bottle of wine.
