BCBS Black Friday in Milwaukee

Woodman's Keno was to start selling at 2pm. Left Uncle Mike's and got to the store at 1.40. There were about 40 in line at that point, and they were sending them in 1-2 at a time before we got there. I would say they started early due to the large turnout and overall disruption to the store. Got 2 BCBS and one BW. Had scored a Rare earlier and drank my share at Mike's, so it was all good for me.

 

If the line was that long, I would have walked away with zero complaints. I've bought BCBS 7 years in a row and have never waited in a single line. Had no intentions of buying any this year but went out this morning to see what I could find. Remembered the days of buying BCBS at Woodman's in Madison 2 weeks after Thanksgiving. If it was a publicized, timed release and I really wanted to make sure I could get some, I would have been there early. That was not the case here. There were maybe 4 or 5 other people/couples who were told 1:00 and were equally confused. Otherwise the typical folks with their Miller Lite cases and brandy.

I thought Linda ran a better show than that. Very disappointed.

 

Sendiks in Franklin will be releasing their allotment December 4th. Plenty of regular and a lottery for the variants.

 

I have to say, I am disappointed in Ottos. I put my name on the list for pappy's in January at both port wash and brown deer and got no call. When I inquired they said they do not look at the list past may and that "regulars" got offers first. How I am not a regular, I do not know. Then for BCBS the brown deer said on Friday at 9, it would be 2 pp, first come first serve on the Wednesday before. At 9:10 Friday morning, brown deer said they were sold out except for a few for people on a list...? Just be upfront with what you are doing. Luckily had better luck where I went for Turkey Day. Hope you all had good luck!

 

I was told 1PM for the Oak Creek Woodman's, and had a few people in line at Discount coroborate that info. I decided to head over at about 11:45. I was also shocked they were selling. There were signs literally saying Goose Island Available at 1:00PM.

But for those still looking, I talked with Whole Foods downtown. They said they are releasing their allotment Friday December 4th.

 

What was up with the otto's not having any variants? Or was that held back for regs? I only saw the bw at men falls ottos

 

Oh and rays got two cases of rare but only sold one...super lame

Agreed. The amount of stuff that Rays holds back for their cellar is ridiculous. I understand holding onto some for future events but half of their allocation? Along with that, so much of that stuff released Saturday should have been on shelves and in fact is sitting on shelves at plenty of stores.

 

I saw Bigfoot 15' on the list, that's just straight BS.

 

You can bet they probably halved their regular BCBS for this event too. That kind of thing is what's wrong with the beer scene. Quit with your self aggrandizing events and sell what you have. Your prices are already high.

 

Might be a bit late for this - but are there any stores doing a release this week (Mon-Thurs)?

 

Woodmans men falls is supposed to be releasing them this morning. 1st in line

 

They released it on Saturday and lied to everyone^^

 

Woodmans MF is out. A friend of mine got there right away when they opened and they sold him quite a few bottles, so they must have gotten quite a bit.
I also heard the phone ringing off the wall when I was there, so yeah I guess people can stop calling about it, hah.

 

They had a few cases of regal and bw. No coffee or rare. Sucked to get there at 545am for 2 bottles of regal

 

At least 5 cases of regular left at Brunos liquors in lake Geneva.

 

How much $/bottle? And what kind of limits? Im gonna be down that way tomorrow...might swing through if it was worth it.
