How many BAs have you met in real life?

Met a lot of people on BA. I've only ever done IP trades and have probably close to 70 under my belt with a bunch of those being repeats. Great way to meet new people and spread around great beer!

 

Here's what I do. http://store.beeradvocate.com/collections/hats I wear my hat when I go to festivals, and occasionally to breweries too. I've had brewers and owners ask me if I'm on the BA staff, but so far, no one has come up to me and identified themselves as a BA member. It will happen soon.

I have young kids and work over 50 hours a week. My wife also works some hours in the evening and I'm with the kiddos. I suspect as the kids get older I will hit more local breweries and bars on occasion and be able to meet up. For now, it is the virtual bar on WBAYDN usually on Fridays & Saturdays.

 

I was already signed up.

Many I have met at the NHC. Some at beer festivals. Meeting one at Schlenkerla in Bamberg was unique.

Met one at the Cantillon Public Brewing session who said he wasn't very active, but besides that I'm sure I've met a few without realizing. I always want to ask, but only sometimes do. Anyone else think it's weird to be like oh hey are you on beeradvocate? Idk, when they're not, it seems weird that one of my first questions is about an online forum

 

Zero that I know of, but I have a feeling some people I encountered on Friday picking up BCBS probably are?

 

I've met a ton (well over 100) over the years- between festivals and parties,events,etc Seemed to be a pretty jovial crowd every time and most everyone gets along well. Another great thing about beer !

 

I'm guessing at least 50. Lots of people from the annual KBS bottle share and several from local releases. I guess having a very large shaved head that doubles as my avatar makes me stand out in a crowd.

 

Probably a few dozen overall at different breweries/events, but I have purposely met up with 5 different people that I got in touch with through the Ba machine.

 

I've met a ton through in person trades and such. Have 4-5 guys I text almost everyday back and forth. Although we have never met face to face they are almost like family to me.

 

A whole bunch actually. Started as a tasting group and now we've all become really good friends.

 

Great thread. One - @Roguer last month while traveling through Hawaii. Now that I'm back in Florida for a few months (my wife keeps me on a fairly aggressive travel schedule), I'd love to have a beer with other BAs who travel to/through Gainesville). Put a message in my in box (it's one of a few features of this site I feel competent to use)..Cheers!

A bunch. The one I see the most is @SomethingClever. He keeps coming back to Maine to try to beat me at golf.

 

No one around me, but went back home to CA a few months ago and both my stepbrothers and Stepsister go to Lagunitas and Stone taprooms like it's nothing and know where to get pliny on tap! Thier mouths still dropped open when I scored 3 plinys my first 2 days there with my beer hunting skills, lol
