    Here's some damn good ones...

@JdoubleA and I amassed a lineup of some of the best and had a blind tasting of them with Steven Lyerly - owner/brewer at Olde Hickory brewery. The three absolute standouts - among a field of great beers - are on the left. Steven's Blendiculous 1, King Henry & Bourbon County. The Blendi was my favorite of the group. Interestingly enough, Steven was able to correctly identify his brew out of the blind tasting. Good times. You can't much go wrong with any of these brews - though some are quite difficult to come by.

Except that they are 9.3oz (I think).
I've only ever had the stuff on tap. Once you get above $1 per oz, I get cold feet... and that's what they all go for here. Still, I regret not picking one up and might try to do so.

As someone who once did a "Barleywine Night" with just 4 other people (which ended up including a dozen BWs, including a half-growler of Bigfoot and a number of bombers), let me just say that spreading these over 31 days and not trying to drink them all in one night is a good idea. A VERY good idea.

Pierre Ferrand Billionaire is definitely on the docket this month!

I will probably drink the BCBBW too just for kicks

Yeah, I knew that 11.9 number I threw out felt wrong. Anyway, just go in for the standard Harvest Ale, then, with at least a year on it. Not sure what you can get it for up there, probably closer to $10 a bottle unfortunately, but I still highly doubt you will feel disappointed.

That beer won best barley wine at the World Beer Awards.

Crazy Mountain used to be available here. Don't know what happened but I miss their ESB.

I would love to have that beer in the mix based on the color alone, but at over $20 a bottle, buying one didn't appeal to me.

Troegs Flying Mouflan. Kinda flies under the radar these days but it's damn good.

I'd include that beer but it doesn't appear here anymore.

I'm pretty sure any of the Decicco's in NY have them, at pretty good prices too

Here in Michigan I really enjoy Pilgrims Dole, kind of gets lost in the shuffle.

Barrier Archibald was truly great - my biggest beer regret of the year is only buying one bottle. I do prefer the English style BWs over the American style.

If you can somehow get a hold of one, a five year old Bigfoot is simply divine.

Happy birthday to me. I will be celebrating my 40th by drinking a "Big Birthday Beer" each day for the next 40 days (an idea I stole from @zid ). BBB #1 is the best one around...120 Minute IPA from DFH.
