I bought a case of that stuff last year. It's awesome. Im just as stoked although not as vocal as he is.

It was more the anti Bourbon County rhetoric, not the love for Brain. I'm equally as stoked for Brain.

You'd better believe it. I think we've all seen enough pictures to know that a certain set of beers that were released last week are about as rare as Bud Light. If you're going to fiend over something rare, might as well fiend on something that's really rare.

I don't think it has as much to do with rarity as it does really good beer. I mean that's why I buy beer, cause it tastes good. Meh. Carry on...

I fully believe that coming from you and a few others. Others...not so much. It's a giant contest so people can take pictures with the most wooden boxes and bottle piles from 18 different stores on Black Friday. It's the beer equivalent of a $50 laptop at Best Buy. Of the bottle piles, maybe 2-3 will actually be consumed. The rest will just be passed along from one trader to another, slowly turning into Teriyaki sauce.

I guess I should be proud of GI for going this route though. Bottles were everywhere before they made it into a contest. When you turn beer into a contest, people love it. They should probably try making March 12th into 312 day and watch the lines and instagram bottle pyramids form.

    K, rant over :grinning:

Yeah. I dont see a point in posting a haul unless its a thank you. I dont need measuring tape, I feel quite adequate with myself.

I will definitely have to do a LotLB v BCBS side-by-side.
Going by the 2015 BCBS I had Sunday, I still greatly enjoy it, but I couldn't help thinking it was a smidge "less" than previous years. I had the 2015 Coffee on tap and really enjoyed it, I only managed 1 bottle so I haven't compared bottle to tap yet. I also had Rye on tap and opened a bottle also on Sunday, I thought the tap had a little more berry to it than the bottle, but I enjoyed it either way.
LotLB, however, has a very high stature in my memory and going on that I may lean towards it over 2015 BCBS. I can't wait for '15 LotLB to come out and put them to the test.

I just stumbled across a bottle of Liquid Brain at Grapevine a couple of hours ago. I bought a couple of other beers, turned around to leave, and saw it sitting on a shelf by the register with some FW Agrestic and CS Serenata. I'm not from the area so I wouldn't have heard of it without this thread, but I grabbed the only one and went back to the register, so thanks for that. Looking forward to enjoying it but I can't find much info about. It's just a straight up barrel aged imperial stout, right? No adjuncts or anything?

Lucky grab!! That sold out many months ago, you must have stumbled across a black Friday release.

No adjuncts, just a BA stout done right

I think Grapevine holds a few bottles back every once in a while and puts them out somewhat randomly. I found a Liquid Brain there about two months ago. Just the one, though.

First bottling of liquid brain is the best ba stout I've ever tried.
    And it's not really close.

When is batch 3 being released?

Liquid Brain was available as of this morning at Grapevine. On the shelf. Because beer. Multiple bottles, leftovers from Black Friday release

Was going to pile on with the BCBS talk, but now I'm really intrigued by the Liquid Brain!!!

Anyone know if I can find this up north in Fort Collins???!?

Supposedly 2015/2016 Brain is due in a couple months. They sneak bottles of the 2014 bottling out at both Grapevine and the Bull & Bush. I always keep an eye out for it on both the beer menu and the cooler up front.
They're sometimes overlooked, but the B&B has also bottled other BA beers, including some brett and sour variants. While NB and Bristol are the obvious CO pioneers in that area, the B&B has been making them for a long time, too.
