Pittsburgh - New Beers & Local Breweries

I haven't tried Blizzard yet, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the New Belgium Accumulation. They call it a "white ipa" but they don't use a Belgian yeast strain so it's essentially a hoppy wheat beer.

I for one cannot wait to try the Beaver Bait Porter or the Humpers Pale.

 

I now like to think that a Humpers Pale is some sort of marital aid.

Sorry to drag us back into Bourbon County talk...Can anyone confirm if all the Bourbon County we are getting has hit the region?

While in Buffalo and from @chefduff2 posts it seems most of NY (besides NYC) only got regular BCBS and no variants. A guy I was talking to and who seemed knowledgeable said that Goose Island was concentrating on core markets and that cities like Buffalo were probably never going to see variants again. I look at it as a welcome step forward that we actually got Coffee and Regal.

 

There was some scuttlebutt that Waterworks MD was going to get some either on 12/7 or 12/14, but I don't think that's ever been verified.

Was just gonna say...I know the wholesaler has it in stock, but not sure which stores have it yet....

 

Probably just speculation, but I heard they'd have barley wine and original. 12/12 stands out for some reason.

 

Someone here gave a date and it was definitely a Monday. I remember because it seemed so absurd to me that they'd release it on a Monday.

 

That was me. A girl on the phone said 12/14 first come first serve. I think I'm done shopping at that place if they can't give anyone a shot at this kind of stuff.

 

So no limits or anything? Just come in on the 14th and buy it until it's gone?

That seems like a swell idea.

 

Did the area see Terrapin Cinnamon Roll'd Wake N Bake? I know it just got released again

 

We still haven't seen Tiramisu-Moo. Most Terrapin releases take at least a few weeks to get here.
