Here I go, deep type flow
Jacques Cousteau could never get this low

It looks like Mr @Fezzik1970 might have a bone to pick with the Mad Scientists; what a shame. Been doing this for 15 years professionally and full-time, not as a part-time gig or "alternative" lifestyle to a dead-end job. Craft Rules Everything Around Me. That's why I ditched school at 19 years old, roamed the earth like Kane in Kung Fu, got the f#$k outta dodge and walked planet earth, visiting over 100 breweries in the process. Then, to top it all off, moved to a place in Brooklyn, NYC that was dubbed "One of the worst neighborhoods in the United States" and "The Crack Capital of America" a decade prior.

Of course, there were plenty of early formulations of the Mad Scientists that are eerily similar to many of the other folks firing up the brew kettles on the east coast these days. Not surprising, considering we banged out 300+ beers in our first 10 years. But do we think they bit our style? Nah, and definitely not more than some high-gravity brew made with lactose.

The reality is Sixpoint has always been fertile ground to till. Not surprising, considering the early heads were crushing beer at Spuyten Huyvil. And to this day, if you come in early at Sixpoint, you'll hear the sound of the Wu blasting outta my office at 7am. That's how we roll - hard.

You should come down to Sixpoint in Brooklyn. You're personally invited. You can drink from our kegerator, which pours some of these proprietary brews, many of which don't even get released before you see them in cans. It might be a good idea to do that before you start making claims. For a wise man once said:

"The game of chess....is like a sword fight. You must think first - before you move!"

And when you came up with Resin, you totally copied that other brewery that made an Imperial IPA.

You may want to drink some of that coffee then re-read my very tongue in cheek post.

I was in no way saying SP bit anything. The joke was at Fezzik who seemed very concerned that Carton wasn't getting their due or something.

Yup. And when we came out with 16oz cans of our beer in May 2011, I guess all of the other craft brewers in the NE who followed suit were blatantly ripping us off as well. Maybe we should send a cease and desist to the Alchemist? Oh, and I heard Sam Adams now has a double IPA in 16oz cans too. Damn, we're going to be busy with all of the trailblazing we've done over the years! ;-)

Yeah, you were only copied to be alerted of the conversation, we didn't think you were making any claims. Its clear the dude has a bone to pick, but the community knows better. There's no father to our style ;-)

or....roll that sh*t light that sh*t smoke it :grinning:

Was Regular coffee even the first coffee cream ale (fairly certain it wasn't)? People should make sure they know what they're talking about beforr throwing around accusations.

Let's try to coordinate a date that works for everyone mid-December, before the big holiday rush. Let's round up a posse via direct message, so we don't clutter up this thread.

    cheers

We've done many versions of this beer, going back many years, and even to the pre-Sixpoint days at the Angelic and homebrewing in the late 90s.

But the latest reincarnation of this beer was indeed the Pour Over, which we did last year.

C.R.E.A.M. however, does not contain lactose. :-)

So making a style that someone else made previously is "copying" them? So Carton "copied" whoever was the first brewery to make an IPA when they made 07xx???

Odd question since I'm the only one bringing it up. I should clarify that marketing usually has a negative connotation here, and I don't subscribe to that.
