I mean I remember last year making a list of my top 10 American Pales and listing Victory Harvest in the top five. I really enjoyed last years version and looked up everything about it. Why are they now calling it an IPA this year. Not that it matters along as the beer is good but just curious, maybe its for marketing?.

That's an issue for the Brewer/Consumer. Look at Zombie Dust and Pseudosue. They boarderline that American Pale Ale/IPA Realm. I still drank them as a Pale Ale and they were too hoppy to classify.

It's delicious no matter how its categorized. Never noticed it changed here.

Right, from the consumer perspective it doesnt matter, But, from the brewer perspective I wonder why the "sudden" change in the style without a change in the beers specs.

Yep, checked Victory' s site, you're right. I don't know what the motivation was, seemed like it sold quickly enough both last year and this latest batch. At least in my neck of the woods.

Yea same here. Kinda weird, I guess now I gotta put this on my top ten "IPAs" list

I just had one, no mention of it being an IPA on the bottle. It tastes like a pale ale - not much bitterness. I rated it 4.08 as a pale ale. As an IPA I would have to rate it lower since bitterness is not up to style standards.

The change is probably because anything labeled as an IPA will outsell a "pale ale" by huge margins.
