You guys do realize that the onion thing is more about individual sensitivity than about the beer, right?

Genius. Do less work on the beer by skipping a step that doesn't even effect flavor and then sell it. Save time and rake in cash.

thank you lol, never once have i EVER tasted any beer that had an "onion" taste in it... and I have reviewed beers with tons of other reviewers claiming an "onion" taste is apparent.

that sounds much more like a personal problem to me, guys.... I'm sorry your tastebuds betray you like that lol.

How is that a shit remark? Guy literally called Stone's brewers lazy, then made a statement that was provably false about both his ability to homebrew and about Stone's pricing. Greg could have been way more of a dick about it.

Its the same recipe every time. If you didn't like the past ones, why still buy it? Everyone has different tastes and from the reviews and the following enjoy by has, many people like it.

lol @StoneGreg cracks me up. Keep turning out the solid brews Greg. If you don't like it don't buy it. It's as simply as that. Everyone's a critic but if you don't think Stone makes great IPAs i really don't know what to tell you.

I noticed the same. Was really hoping to try this one. Go to the website and vote for your zip code to receive distribution. I did. It's a long shot that it will be added, but you never know!

I actually add an onion peel to my IPA, kind of like a lemon in a hefeweizen.

Multiple breweries in Vermont/Massachusetts have been doing this for quite some time now.

They also happen to be the ones with some of the highest ratings for IPAs. If the market demands it...

Michael, have you had any of the murky beers from Trillium, Tree House, ...? If so, how would you further describe the adverse effects of the turbidity of these beers?

    Cheers!

I can only imagine the meeting in which they decided this.

"Wait a minute, you mean we can completely skip a process, save a little money and time, and then put that as a marketing feature on the beer? Hell yeah let's do this!"

I like unfiltered beers, especially casks and homebrewed beer, so I support this initiative.

That was a rumor that went viral. I think the first or second batch changed minimally but since then in numerous posts Stone has come on and said the recipe is the same every batch.

I agree. Stone really is the best. They are gonna make as much money and get as good distribution as these big corporations just doing what they are doing. They are growing so fast. I will always support Stone

Should this sell for less since, in concept, this is cheaper to make?
I guess my question is rhetorical since I know markets don’t work this way.
Just find interesting that: [cheaper to make + (some novelty & perhaps interesting characteristics) = likely same price]
My premise may be off since I have no idea of the price point – but assume it would go for typical Enjoy By prices.
With that said, sign me up for a few bottles..

Very interesting. I normally don't really like EB all that much, but will definitely make a curiosity purchase.

Interesting concept that explains a lot. I was just having a conversation with an IPA lover who seems to have a very good palate, and he was at a total loss when I described the onion note. I tried using other terms that people use from "cat piss" to "body odor", and he just coming back with "you mean dank?" He apparently has never tasted that almost savory note that is or was so prevalent in Lagunitas Sucks, Dirt Wolf, and Enjoy By.
