Because when it releases I can go to a number of stores within 5-10 minutes of where I live and pick it up. Name me a BA stout available in CT on par with BCBS that I can do that with.

I hope it's not that hard to pick some up. I'd be happy with 4 bottles of regular (any variant would be a bonus), but I'm not waiting in line for hours to get it.

Veracious Brewing in Monroe is supposed to have their fantastic Black Velvet Russian Imp Stout aged in barrels available this weekend or next. I think it's as good as any Bourbon County and it's local. -Dean

Does this mean no coffee for folks in HDI territory?

Admittedly i've only tried a couple of their beers (Owd Boreas and wet) but both were pretty underwhelming. I'm not about to spend time (2 hours round trip) and money on a brewery that to me is unproven when one of the gold standards for the style is more readily available to me.

Please name these beers that are just as good as BCBS and readily available.

Don't even mention Dragon's Milk, there is a reason it's on the shelf.

Last night I had a BA M.A.D. from Thimble Island and followed it up with a 2014 BCBS. I thought the BA M.A.D. was just as good.

Where is BA M.A.D. on the shelf? Would love to try it.

If I see it in a store I'll pick it up but I'm not gonna chase for it.

I think Ten Fidy is a damn good stout and readily available as are some options from Ballast Point. Another more readily available option is Speedway Stout from Alesmith which is now in CT, although the price is high.

because bourbon county is the original and is incredible...and comes out once a year and is pretty much the best stout we can get in the northeast with the exception of good morning.

anybody have confirmation of release on the shoreline today?

I agree that these are great stouts, but they're not barrel aged. Apples to oranges...

Do you actually like regular MAD?

I have had 2 bottles of it in the past week and I think it's just flat out not a good beer. Thin, some strange chemical flavors...blech.

I have not had either MADs. It just peaked my interest seeing the BA version compared to BCBS here....

Thanks, I live in SE CT and will just buy BCBS when it comes out on the shelf easier than driving to milford / new haven area.
