    Hello BAers,

As title suggests, trip from Boston to Brooklyn soon, and no sleep til then.

Looking for breweries worth hitting along the way. We either take I90 or I84. Otherhalf and six point I believe are the two on the list currently.

Any along the way to hit? Thanks in advance

if you went 84 to 91 to 95 (or rte 15) you can always stop at NEBCO in the new haven area

definitely willing to take a slight detour for that. Good call! I know there are CT breweries that can be slightly off the path, I just don't know which. Thanks!

Arrival sunday night, stay monday night, home tuesday day...
Unfortunately that rules out NEBCO. I think 2 roads and Other half and @Sixpoint are the only reasonable options.

now I see sixpoint is not open to public. what a shame. :slight_frown: Well, we'll just drink sixpoint NEAR six point and call it a visit.

I assume you've already been to Tree House that's why it's not on your list...

OEC isn't too far out of the way.

Also, if you take 84 all the way to 684 (which I don't think is in anyway the quickest route) ... DeCicco's Brewster
If you are on the Merritt / Hutchinson River (90-84-91-15 what I think is the quickest route) - DeCicco's Armonk

Both are grocery stores with bars, huge (excellent) bottle/can selections and growlers / crowlers to go.

everything seems to be closed on sunday monday so... i think we might do fri to sun instead to allow us to actually visit the breweries we want. Thanks for the tips. Singlecut is a definite interest for us.

Does Six Point have an open tasting room now? I thought they were still renovating.

Check out Threes Brewing while you're in Brooklyn. They aren't talked about as much as OT, Grimm, and Singlecut but make great beers.

If its a day OEC isn't normally open you can give them a call. I left a message and they called me back and said someone would be there to sell bottles. If you like sours its a must visit.

I don't think they are open to public... I just saw BK and got excited, but then my gf told me they aren't open to public. What a shame.

that's an awesome tip! I'll try my luck. sours are a favorite. Sours in the summer, stouts in the winter... occasional stouts in the summer and sour in the winter, but I'll make it a point to try to line that up!

Hi. I'm back. Trip is this weekend (Saturday). Hoping to find out where the best places to find what are available are?

I tried sites of NEBCO and Other Half. NEBCO basically says "under construction, come back later" with no info. Twitter shows info but seems mostly about fills/outdated.

Other half sends me to Beermenus, which is cool, but doesn't specify cans vs pours vs anything. Maybe I just don't know how to use the site.

OEC, I'm clear. Single Cut and Brooklyn Brew I plan to go to regardless of what's on.

definitely try to get to Deciccio's Armonk , very close to Captain Lawrence. Once in Brooklyn you will be close to other half, Threes, Transmitter, Finback and Alewife is nice to drink in. Drive to Williamsburg and drink in Torst and we liked Dirck the norseman too.
If the breweries aren't open you can still find their beer using either beermenus or untapped.

Torst is a very good beer bar in Brooklyn too. Owned by the Evil Twin/Mikkeller brothers I believe but I could be wrong.

Appreciate the suggestions. We'll see how much we can cram into a 2 day stay. We're going Saturday morning to CT for those, getting to Brooklyn Sat night. PLan to hit the below mentioned bar (Torst) that night. Next day do the NY brewery thing. Do have a car, but I think Other Half is walkable from our hotel. Singlecut is subway I think to Queens? I forget the logistics, but the gf has that part figured out. I just am doing the research part with all of your help haha

Thanks! We totally plan to hit that and yes, it's the Evil Twin guy, I think. I don't think they get along so I'm not sure if both own it.

Take the above advice and stop at DiCicco's in Armonk. They have a truly fantastic selection of stuff you can't get in Massachusetts. I was there on Sunday and there were at least 4-5 different Almanacs, 5+ Crooked Stave bottles, and cases of Prairie Bomb! and others. Definitely not an inexpensive stop, but I always walk away with several bottles I haven't tried before.

If making that trip on a Saturday then I would drive thru RI first and hit Proclamation, opens at Noon. Then straight to Beer'd in CT, opens at 1pm. NEBCo next, closes at 4 pm. Followed by OEC, closes at 7pm. As long as you get to Proc at open, you'll have time hit all 4.
