BCBS Black Friday - Chicago Suburbs

Yep. A couple times a year I will crack but usually I stay away. All the meijers in Plainfield and BBrook have regular 2 pp 10$ as of 8pm last night. 20ish cases left.

 

I've got plenty of Regular, looking for more variants and the fella @ CCL said he'd be getting some. He also likes to horde things and save them for his regulars. Hell, I bought KBS there in July.

 

Funny how all of these WFs were different. Northbrook was 2 regular and one varient. Deerfield had no Rare, but apparently everything else. Orland Park (no Rare) made you buy a regular in order to get one varient. I'm glad I was given some solid info on which stores had Rare and which did not. I scored a Rare. I think I was #1 there at 5:30, but another dude and his girlfriend claimed to have been there since 2:30, so we played nice. I figured, 1 or 3, I would still get my choice. Both had hit Binny's LP last Friday. Another dude went to Rare Day. Talk about annoying that these people are that greedy.

I'm with you Bryan...beers seem to be more like trophies to those people. Probably the same people that chased BA malevolence caliente all week too

 

Just had a meeting near the Bloomingdale Meijer so I thought I'd stop in to check it out. The beer/liquor manager said they had "loads" of regular. $9.99 per, and while I was there she removed the "limit 2" sign...so no limit at least for the time being. I grabbed 2. It's not on the floor, you'll have to ask someone in the dept. No variants, but an easy way to grab some reg if you're interested.

 

Anyone been to rolling meadows Meijer?

 

Fellow BAs, thanks for the Meijer's tip. I just purchased 2 bottles of regular at RM Meijer. Two bottle limit. $9.99/ btl. They still had about 6 cases behind the service desk about 15 mins ago.

 

They are just worried about posting pictures of their haul.

 

South Evanston Whole Foods was selling regular by the case this morning because they were unable to sell single bottles thanks to the goofy local laws. I had to pass; have spent too much on beer this month!

 

Simply put: Insane.

If that's the case, he did you a solid giving you your spot. "Chicago dibs" is some serious bullshit, especially if you didn't shovel your spots out of a snowstorm.

I hope you're joking about the dibs. Dibs is the perfect symbol of what is wrong with the beer scene in Chicago and this city in general. Everyone wants what they think is "theirs." It's fucking depressing to be honest.

You can all relax. Nobody actually called dibs. I was there, 4th in line behind the other 2 guys in this thread. The guy third in line (Bryan) made a joke in passing about how he should have left his lawn chair in his spot in line and just gone to wait in his car. Nobody took it seriously at the time, and nobody should now.

 

Just grabbed two at Rolling Meadows Meijer service desk. Couldn't see the stash remaining, but I didn't get the last ones. Cheers, all!

 

There was at least 4 cases left when I was there about an hour ago, you just had to peak to the left behind the divider.

 

Funny stuff...I'm pretty sure he misspelled 'were' and left off some question marks, he wasn't claiming to be the guy.
