I think Ctayt is one of the best BA stouts on the market. At one time the first batch might have been my absolute favorite.
Like the 1st version of the Brain, I think it didn't necessarily age well. I opened one a year after buying it and it had aging notes that don't jive with my tastes. Fresher it's something of beauty, though.

I think it's a great beer. The price point keeps me away most of the time though. But I do grab it when Grapevine puts it on their bomber of the month sales

Ctayt is excellent and blows BA yeti out of the water. I'd buy it 100 times out of 100 over BA Yeti.

I too prefer English Barleywines over American Barleywines - American's are usually better when they sit for 2 or 3 years and lose a lot of the hops and gain toffee and caramel. I still enjoy the American BW's but not as much. That is a shame about the 15 Well Bred. I will be interested in seeing how this year's Dry Dock Bligh's is. In general I would like to see more English Style barley wines available. Colorado has some good American style BW's. Old Ruffian and Lawyers Guns and Money, Dr Strangelove, and 4 noses has one on tap that's really good.

I've seen it around, but never tried it. Is it a "once a year" type of release or does it see beershelves more frequently than that?

I think it's once a year. The one out currently is only batch 3. It tends to stick around longer because of the price point.

Has anyone tried the Breckenridge 25th Anny Rum aged Vanilla Porter? Sounds good......but, typically I'm not overly impressed by Breck beers. I couldn't find any reviews on BA, but maybe I'm just using the wrong keywords.

Excited to try Snowed In. Bit bummed that Hazels had the price tag at $14-something but it rang up at $18.48 (didn't notice until I had left, or I would have asked for the price on the shelf). Oh well.

That would have been a fortunate little mistake in your favor for sure. My go-to shop doesn't even put prices of a lot of stuff (mostly stuff fresh off the truck that is guaranteed to sell out within 24-72 hours) so I never know the full damage until I am paying.

That's gotta be a fun little adventure for the wallet!

Yeah, knowing what the price is supposed to be on Snowed In, I'm not upset. Like you say, it was a mistake; one I was momentarily excited to take advantage of.

Popped one open a short time ago. Will be better with age but certainly enjoyable now. Nice aroma and rum and vanilla flavors.

I was a bit disappointed with Ctayt (and not just because I still have no idea how to pronounce it), but I am in the minority. The price had previously kept me away but when it won GABF this fall, I figured I'd give it a try. It is good, but not GABF-Gold-Medal-Good, atmo.

I liked BA Yeti more, but I don't know that I would spend the money for either BA Yeti or Ctayt again.

I am intrigued to try Liquid Brain when it comes out. What's the pricing and format usually?
Grimm Brothers The Count is released tomorrow, but I will probably miss that release.

Its the direct phonetic translation to Stout from Russian.

They wanted to call the beer Stout but since its labeled as an Imperial Stout, Labeling laws said they couldnt call it simply Stout so the name is an eff you to those laws.

Didn't Coors write those laws themselves?
