Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

I don't think this is that fresh anymore, unless there have been multiple batches hitting various markets over time. It had already changed quite a bit before Thanksgiving - not necessarily for the worse though.

 

The keg we got at Meridian Pint was quite fresh. Like less than 2 weeks old. Think there were separate drops for DC and MD/VA. I'll take two week old Alpine any day, coming from San Diego. Was relatively shocked it got here that quick.

 

Dawson's had FW XIX Anni and Xocoveza in as of 1 PM today.

 

Schneider's had a few Utopias yesterday if that's ur thing, $250

 

I missed Founders Project PAM at Dominion. Has anyone seen it anywhere else in NoVa?

 

Just picked some up at TW Alexandria. They had several cases out on the floor, near but not in their "limited release" section. Apparently no limits. Also had Xocoveza, Wake-n-Bake, and Born Yesterday, Big Bad Baptist, Death by Coconut, and Gingerbread Stout.

How much Double Duckpin did they have left, and what's the price on it?

I'll keep my fingers crossed it was fresh. The Duet and Hoppy Birthday were like best by May 2016, so those were definitely fresh. Guess I will find out later.

no idea on the price at dominion, but k-1 got double duckpin today. so probably arrowine and the lost dogs got it too.

 

Just an FYI, all the kegs the east coast gets are actually from the Green Flash facility in Atlanta or whichever specific city it's in. If you're still unsure I reference you to the Alpine thread in the west coast regional, they explain it in better detail.

 

I'm going to try to not be too much of a dick right now, but this is the second time I've made a trip to TW based on your posts and come away empty handed. I am fairly sure that this isn't a matter of me just being late either, because I've engaged the folks that work in the stores and they've insisted that they haven't seen Xocoveza yet. So, I see a few possible explanations for what's going on:

1. TW employees are hoarding Xocoveza and being shady about it
2. You are confusing Xocoveza with Stone Coffee Milk Stout
3. I really am just unlucky/late and the TW employees don't know anything about their stock

Are you sure you aren't mistaking Xocoveza for Coffee Milk Stout? The packaging is very similar, and since you said it was "on the shelf" at the Springfield store it seems reasonable that you are just mistaken. Anyway, just throwing this out there for other folks that are ISO Xocoveza. Still bummed I decided to be nice and not buy a case from K-1 for $11.99 a six pack when they had it last week...

 

I searched it on the TW website earlier today and nothing came up for this area. It looks like last years was on there as sold out in CA. I'm not saying the website is 100% but it has been fairly accurate when I have used it recently for other stuff. I also asked a guy at Fairfax TW a couple weeks ago who seemed like he knew what I was talking about and said he hadnt seen it at all.

 

Pretty sure it was Xocoveza. I'll post a photo next time (if I can figure out how to do it through the app).
