I still stand by my over-reaching, hyperbolic symbolism. Probably because it's HOTTAKE Friday and I want to get home to drink some delicious BCS.

My local Cardinal got Rare and Prop this afternoon. $140 for Rare and $50 for Prop. Glad I asked the prices beforehand. I was there less than 10 minutes after it arrived and while I was in the store they got three phone calls and two people were in line behind me. Even at double MSRP, it'll still be gone by the time you're reading this.

 

Hey guys, 5th in line here. Everything stated so far is a farce. They are all part of a traveling beer buying band touring the country. They don't want you to know the truth

Deerfield WF was disappointing this morning if you were in search of variants. Being 11th in line got me one regular and one Barleywine. A manager there reported they would be getting a case of each variant (except Rare), which they did, but they certainly didn't sell it all. Only sold four bottles of Prop were sold. Coffee & Regal Rye went next. Limit two bottles total, could choose any two available. When the doors opened there were maybe 40 people in line. While employees certainly deserve some perks for this sort of thing, reserving more than half of their allotted variants for staff seems a bit much to me.

Spot on. Son and I were # 5 & 6. Really wanted a Prop, one would have been fine. Got the last three Regals and a Coffee.

 

Got one today at a local store when picking up some staples for the weekend. Had regular only, limit one for now but come back Monday and whatever is left is available. I guess I appreciate that since he is trying to sell to as many people as possible. Was hoping he would say 2 as that is all I wanted (1 for now, one to hold for a bit) so maybe I will stop back on Monday and see if he happens to have a Bean Gene too.

Oh..and no standing in line was really nice.

Nice. At least it wasn't 3am or something extra crazy (just average crazy)! Enjoy those Regals! I enjoyed mine WAY more than I expected based on the reviews out there so that wait was still worthwhile.

Emerson's in Mount Prospect had it on tap last night. It was still pouring when I left at 10pm. Still there likely.

 

Similar story at Wheaton WF - except 5:45 am got me 11th in line. Luckily ended up with a coffee - only 7 props available and I think 8 Regals. Coffee ran out very soon after me. Could choose two variants and also get two regular. I'm sure the 70 people or so behind me in line weren't too thrilled with waiting that long for two regular.

 

I drove by about 5:20 on my way to another location. Had I stayed, I would have been #1.
