It breaks my heart but I won't be attending this release. Reports of people camping out starting at 8pm Saturday and bottles that will be resold for crazy amounts of money. It's gonna be a mess and it isn't Kanes fault. It's sad but this scene is really being ruined. I just can't in good conscience contribute to what this is going to become. To all that brave it, have fun!

Yeah I'm so up in the air about this release. It's absolutely going to be a huge shit show. Wish they would've gone the ticketing route. Captain Lawrence just did that for the Cuvee de Castleton release and it was perfect.

 

I emailed Michael Kane yesterday and asked if they would consider going the ticket route for this release, and the reasons I thought it makes sense to do so for this ANTEAD release specifically. I'll let you know if I get a response.

I am finishing my last can now as well. I complained earlier about off taste. It has gone away a bit with the later cans--earlier cans were close to drain pours; this is very good (but still not comparable to normal head high).

3 other thoughts/questions:
1. Never had ANTEAD. How's it compare to BCBS or KBS?
2. I've never been to a beer release where have to wait. I don't usually chase whales. But I'm a huge lane fan and considering making this my first. Is this likely to be so bad that if I show at 7 I won't get any? Or just miss variants? If show at 7 when would I get out of there? I got a bunch of kids at home.
3. I can't remember. Kids are all up in my $h!t.

Seriously though ANTEAD is an adaption (i.e. batch 1 was not batch 2). Kane knows quality, and knows it takes time for such an achievement. I’ll cut the essay short here and say that our palates might be dealing with a completely different storm come next weekend

The folks lining up extremely early are there for variants, but I’m pretty sure the main focus in the brewing process is/was on the original ANTEAD and I’m pretty sure that treasure will last. Meaning, if you just want a taste of the original, then I think you are safe my friend

 

Any one know how much Kane charges for their 1 L growlers? Not refills the actual glass. Thanks!

Been a while since I purchased one but I think the 1L is $10 and 2L is $12

 

Saying, the regular ANTEAD would last till say that following Friday? Hey, if it does I'm driving down to get it. We can only hope. I've only ever had the regular and if I could grab some I would and I'd be happy enough.
