Exactly this. He was already going, I had something I had to give him, so I was planning on meeting him anyway, so why did I need to go? Sure I could have gone, but I was one less person in line clogging the hallway.

 

Some are great, some are quite douchey... I enjoy the ones I'm in now and hate the one I was booted out of... Ha ha! Good to be out of it, life's too short for negativity! It taught me a lot about people though.

 

does that group rhyme with 'best dish again raft deer in blue siest'? if so, I wouldn't call that group a secret one, just a land full of a hundred or so ****oids and a few thousand lurkers that use it for release info.

Sadly, you're always going to get douches lol. Especially one where the ringleader is King Douche.

 

Which is why, simply put, I try to avoid the craft beer crowds if possible. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy talking about good beers with like minded people. The beauty of Beer Advocate is that if you don't like somebody, you really don't have to deal with them lol. The holier than thou (ie your KBS is garbage because I'm drinking 'X' beer crowd) mentality can be rather off putting.

The other beauty of Beer Advocate, is that the mods on here seem to do a good job of weeding out the trouble makers, so the majority of the folks on here are pretty easy to communicate with.

Back to this thread though...I get a message from Wife last night, informing me that she drank a Hazel's Nuts...Kind of a bummer, especially because she didn't really enjoy like many would. Ironic, because I mentioned earlier in the thread that I passed on her allotment of Hazel's / Morningwood (due to her not being really into the barrel aged beers)... Good news: Wife didn't like it so the other 3 are safe; Bad news: Only 3 left...And I haven't tried it yet.

The funny part about it all though, is that she sent me a text, saying she picked the one that appeared to be the lowest in ABV... FWIW, the fridge had: Odd Side Morningwood (9.5%), Goose Island BCBS (13.8%), Odd Side Hazel's Nuts (10%), Sierra Nevada Bigfoot (9.6%), Founders Project Pam (10.8%), Stone Xocoveza (8.1%), and Dogfish Head Higher Math (17% according to BA; thought it was 18%).

I'm really curious as to what made her think that Hazel's had the lowest ABV (when in reality it was about middle of the road for what was available). Was it the burlesque bearded 'creature' on the bottle lolol?

My local store just called to say that they won't be able to fulfill my request for a bottle or two of Hipster. His exact words were "Nobody in the state of Michigan will be getting any bottles" since they sold out at the brewery.

Have to say I didn't really believe what I read on the internet (with respect to distribution), but so it goes.....

 

Yeah not even going to touch this one with the response I want to haha... Hopefully it's an enjoyable mouth full of nuts.
