Denton Kroger still has about 15-20 cases. No limit.

I was in there this morning and didn't see any. Where did you spot the cases?

Or did one of you BA'ers buy em out?

Found four bottles of BCS @ Spec's @ 75 & Walnut Hill today... wasn't even looking for them. Still no sightings of coffee or regal though.

Anyone know of any Rare still available or when variants will be released? Total Wine in San Antonio was "not aware" of when they would ship variants.

I was in Total Wine @ Park Ln/75 earlier in the week. Their inventory listed 4 cases of Bourbon County, but the woman could not specify what type. They said it would be on sale in January, but would not provide a specific date.

So, not sure I've really helped you here, other than letting you know that Total Wine is terrible at providing details

I have heard that there is some Rare still floating around in the city. Probably a case or so worth, but it takes a ton of calling around and I'm happy with the one I purchased. Variants, next week...

The two Total Wine San Antonio stores received 1 case of Rare (the Rim location) and 2 cases of Rare (Del Norte), respectively, which all sold out in one day. There's is some regular Bourbon County Stout remaining stock in San Antonio. Go get it!

The Dallas Park Lane store has 4 cases of regular Bourbon County Stout remaining from the original 97 cases that store received. And Dallas Park Lane has about 3 cases of Bourbon County Rare Brand left in stock. Go get it!

Folks, remember there is a three tier system of distribution for alcohol, which means retailers are at the mercy of the middle guys -- the wholesaler/distributors -- with respect to information about upcoming deliveries and timelines. It is not uncommon with high-demand beers such as the Bourbon County range for distributors to keep availability and delivery info close to the vest until they have specific dates themselves. Often, that means distributors won't say it's coming until the very week it's coming. That means, when stores say they do not know or do not have any info, they most often LEGITIMATELY DO NOT KNOW, and therefore cannot provide any more details at that time.

    Drink up. Cheers,

    Rob

Just called Total Wine Dallas Park Lane, said they didn't have any Bourbon County left?

OK, I was just informed there's a special VIP invitation event taking place in the store tonight (12/4), for which the store has set aside this BCBS and Rare. Any BCBS and Rare remaining after the event will be available for regular purchase beginning tomorrow morning. This is why, if anyone calls now, the store will say they do not have any available. The store managers have such discretion when it comes to the sale and quantity limits of allocated beers such as this.

Just curious: You're in Cali, calling Dallas?

...called TW park lane, said the jig was up. Told the manager I knew about his little soiree and wanted to confirm if any remaining BC products would be available tomorrow. He said, "Hold please, I've got a unicorn runnin roughshod through my MD20/20 display." I could hear him twisting his mustache.

Seriously, he said he fully expected all of their BC inventory to be sold during the event and in the off chance that there was some left over, they would hold it for a similar event in the future...if I were in charge I'd probably do the same or save it for the variant release...so see everybody at 8am?

Perhaps there won't be any left after tonight, but with 93 of the 97 cases having originally gone out to the general public, I suppose that's fair in the overall sense.

Hard to please all the whale chasers all the time.

How does one get invited to one of these VIP events?

According to the mustache twirler, TW runs a report that gives the names of those consumers that spend large quantities in the stores on a weekly and monthly basis and they extend the offer to those folks. Pretty standard. How much is a large quantity you ask? Anywhere between 2-10K. I almost dropped my phone at that point. He went on to say the assumption was that attendees at the event would spend a grand.

I must admit it was much more information than I usually get from TW - especially over the phone, but it was not encouraging. They said it should end about 8:30, I think I might cruise up there and crash it.

Late to the party, so I'm guessing this has been snatched up. Anyone been there in the last hour to confirm?
