BCBS Black Friday in Milwaukee

How many are there now? Still worth coming down?

 

When I drove past WF thirty minutes ago about 30. Last night they said they had a case of regal, a case of coffee, 2 cases of BW and a lot of BCBS. They are allowing 2 BCBS plus 1 varietal of your choice. So essentially the first 24 people will get regal or coffee.

 

I was about 10th in line at WF. Got 4 regular and a rye.

 

Any left at whole foods?

 

All gone at WF.

Got my 4 regular and 1 coffee.

 

Otto's Oakland had everything. 1 case Rare, 1 or 2 cases Coffee & Rye, several cases BW, many cases Regular. Maybe 40 in line when the doors opened. 2 regular + 1 variant.

Have heard the other Otto's had some too, but I have to believe that all the variants went to the Oakland shop. Anyone see some at the others?

 

I went to Port Washington at 8:45 on Saturday and they allowed 2 BCBS or 1 BCBW. By the time we got to Brown Deer at 9:10, they were sold out of everything. Had heard they got less than Pot Washington or at least were offering less.

When did Oakland release? What time did people start lining up?

 

Went to the Sendik's in Franklin about 9 this morning. Walked in to no line and was able to get 2 regular and one of the last two barleywine. There was a lady that walked in with a child not long after I got mine and she was told there was just regular left. I asked her what she was looking for and she told me her husband wanted to try the barleywine. I gave her my bottle and told her to enjoy as I already had 5 more at home. They were doing a signup raffle for rye and coffee, not sure how much they received.

 

And by "give" you mean they'll sell you a regular BCBS for $11.99 if you buy a 6er of shitty Goose shelf turds that they can't sell

 

Joe Vitacca did an excellent job at Sendik's this am. Got my two BCBS, 1 BW and 2 Zombie Dust. Class act.

 

This ^^^ met joe today, super nice guy. Great customer service!

 

Oakland released Saturday @ 9am. Line probably started no earlier than 8:00am, but maybe there were a few there earlier.

Keep in mind, this was the same time as Ray's "Super" Saturday AND Discount Day #2, so that probably pulled a good # of beer nerds West and South.

I got there after 8:30, was about 20th in line. They opened just before 9am and offered 2 regular + 1 variant of your choice. They had all of them available. Rare was gone by the 20th person in line, coffee and rye shortly thereafter, but they had more than enough for everyone to get a variant and I think they still had regular available into Saturday.

No guarantees that this will be the same every year. Last year they had 6 bottles of Rye, a case or 2 of bw, and no coffee.

 

Showed up at WF yesterday at 5 and I was still 3rd in line. First four got a Rare ; )

 

4 Rare is a very weird #. Most bigger shops got a case, wondering if they held some back. I certainly understand a few staff members getting special bottles, but that's more than half a case.

 

Of course they held some back, a long with their employee's taking a good amount. They ran out of Bourbon County after the first 30-40 people and had 20 people in line still.

 

The 4 bottle regular limit was a bit generous. It felt like a "let's just get rid of this" kind of release.

 

Like I said, I called the night before the WF release and they said a case of regal and coffee and 2 cases of BW and plenty of BCBS they said. They also said 2 BCBS plus a variant. They never mentioned rare...

 

Anyone know of any bottles still out in the marketplace? Looking to see if I can score a few more bottles of regular.
