I've got a vintagized ready to go today, once I get back from errands this AM. I must be in the minority here. I enjoy their Cappuccino Stout. I've never been able to keep one long enough to age, so I'll gladly try one they've aged for me. The price is very reasonable, so what's to lose?

Well, while the coffee is not as strong, it is still pretty tasty. I am not getting any of the "wet cardboard" or other off flavors mentioned above.I still get a little brewed coffee, some sweetness (milk sugar?), and hints of roasted coffee and dark malts. I would buy it again, regardless of being 2014 or 2015. I usually buy it every season anyway, so buying one a year old didn't phase me at all. Gimmick? Perhaps ... but it's one of the most affordable gimmicks out there.

Anyone know if they still do BA cap stout? I had it at the taproom in Petaluma about 2 years ago and it was fantastic. Brewery only release as far as I know, but I'd be happy to ship some New Mexico goodies for a growler of this anytime.

I'm sure they we're cleaning out the warehouse and were like "hey, Look what I found!" . Love this beer, but not the aged version.

I have the original vintage at my bottle shop from last year. They vintagized it themselves

    Is "vintagized" a thing?
I get the idea.. just never seen the term used before.

Yup... It's not good at all. Tastes like an old beer with a cute cardboard tag around the neck of the bottle.

Bought one of these and was looking forward to it. Not so much after reading much of the above.

For a while, I wondered whether I was the only person who hated the Cappuccino Stout. High West-ified excepted, I haven't been very impressed with Laguinitas' dark beers. Though I will say it's cheap enough that I didn't feel too ripped off.

I bought one and didn't notice until bringing it home that it was over a year old. Not sure if it had been sitting that long in the shop or if it was "vintigized" by Lagunitas. Opened it and couldn't be more disappointed. Hardly any espresso notes and lots of that cardboard taste. Tasted like a mess of a barley wine. Ended up being the only drain pour I've ever had. Ha still drank half of it trying to convince myself that I was the one that had the problem... nope.

Earlier this year the gift shop at the brewery was selling Cappuccino Stouts from previous years and I asked the guy working if he thought it got better. He said maybe.

It can't be more of a mess than Gnarleywine, which I thought was utterly disgusting.

Seen quite a few barrels of that racked up and acting pretty at the Chicago facility.

I thought the Cappuccino Stout was good for the price fresh, but I picked some up a couple weeks ago and didn't realize they where last years, it did not age well, at all.

Lagunitas always makes up their own terminology, its part of the company's personality
