Regular 2014 was pretty much as good as many of the variants.

It is kanes fault if this turns into a shit show. They could easily do a ticketed release or do Brown paper tickets and no proxy release or something. These brewery's want hype until someone gets hurt or killed from drinking all night in a parking lot and driving home or fighting about a place in line.

Its just beer but people take it very seriously and the brewery should follow suit of those in Cali like Alesmith and Lost Abbey. Ticketed releases.

The 2014 version could stand with any bourbon stout on the market. It was a recipe change from 2013 and that resulted in its present day hype shitstorm so odds are the 2015 version will stand on the top podium as well.

If you arrive at 7 AM, I'd venture a guess you'll be anywhere from 30th to 50th which should be good for many, if not all, of the variants. They start selling at 10 AM, perhaps you're out of there roughly around 11.30............or later depending on how many line cutters get in before you at the last moment.

One thing to note: even with the allocations snafu last year of multiple movements on what could be purchased there was "regular" ANTEAD to be had, with no queue, about three hours into Kane's opening. With them doubling production this year I don't see why that wouldn't be the case on Sunday.

And you are basing the 7am time on what? Nothing.... You dont know the limits, variants or anything. People are crazy now. This release was a disaster last year. Now with the added hype and notice its probably going to be ugly if Kane does nothing.

Well, @J5ryall asked for our opinions on what he could encounter if he arrived at 7 AM. That's my opinion.

I know the numbers. And, yes, people are crazy now and last year was a disaster but not all of them are going to wake up at 3 AM in Park Slope so they can be in Kane's parking lot by 4.30 AM.

Given your dour feelings on how Kane handled last year's release what would be your advice to @J5ryall?

I can't really give him advice because I don't want to mislead anyone. There has been no info on bottle counts or variants/counts. If they are doing 1pp and have 3000 bottles my advice would be a lot different than a case limit and 1500 bottles.

He should get there as early as he can and hope that they have enough for him. Also hope the line jumpers are not so plentiful to push you back to far.

Complete speculation here w/ my $.02 — base ANTEAD + 4 variants; 4 base bottles & two variants each p/p, totaling 12 bottles in all.

I would be shocked if Kane was not proactive in handling the anticipated issues.

There's your advice. He asked for opinions, will get 15 more by Sunday, and can then make up his mind. That's why we're here -- to share opinions and feedback. Kane will handle this well. The people, as always, are the ones to watch.

Pretty much the exact expectation I have re: limits.

Considering the hype and how past releases went, I'd like to see 1/2 this as a limit. 2 base and one of each variant. 6 bottles total. Really spreads the wealth!

Checked the weather today, which I know can change, but had a high of 63 on Sunday...for December! This will only add to the craziness!

I'm hoping it lasts til when I can make it, around 12-30-1. What's the best way to get updates from Kane on this? Just keep an eye on FB comments?

Facebook is generally the way to go, their twitter just links back to that.

I'm going to throw out 7500 bottles, 600 of 4 variants allocations of (4(reg)-1(each variant) as a totally uninformed guess if anyone wants to play. (Mods feel free to delete if its bad form to speculate like that though, just curious what people think).

For barrel aged beer releases with variants and hype you really just have to ask yourself "how long am I really willing to wait in line for beer?" Then that's how early you should go. It's to the point where people bring camping gear and chill for 13 hours for releases and turn it into a tailgate. I think breweries just like to see hoards of people at their doors in a near panic meltdown about getting their allocation.

I'm curious to see if a pre-announced allotment will deter people from going early, since there would be no perk in the early arrival.

Last year the pre-announced allotment was 1 case of everything. In many ways, that helped to draw out the crowds. Now what we don't know is, will there be a 200 bottle special ANTEAD, will there be a hard limit of 1-2 pp on variants. How much was actually bottled. I don't think anyone has even tasted the 2015 version, which is why the 2014 had so much hype. We are buying the 2015 expecting it to be like 2014 and not like 2013.

Until they list bottle counts, limits and variants flavors, we really have no idea how to react.

I'd love to see low limits on all. Spread the wealth and hoarders be damned.

1 set pp, go through the line as many times as you want. That gives everyone a chance who shows up and the chance for more if you want to wait twice.

Not that anyone cares, but my suggestion would be:

Full mixed case with one of each special treatment and enough regular to round out the 12 bottle box. One price to buy pre-filled cases to expedite some of the sales.

My suggestion would be to have more than one person with a POS device, now that would expedite sales
